You will love the view, privacy and quiet while being a short 25 minute drive to downtown Asheville. Lots of bird and animal watching, and direct access to Bearwallow Mt hiking trails. Bring binoculars and a frisbee! An exceptional place to take a break, immerse yourselves in the mountains and rejuvenate mind, body and spirit. These mountain homes were designed to accommodate large groups for any occasion, with Bearwallow Mt and nature as your stunning backdrop. The The Poplars at Bearwallow is quickly becoming a favorite retreat for guests! It is not surprising when you put terrific homes together with a private, secure property, hot tub extensive outdoor space to walk, run, or ride a bike with views and more. And of course, the new Event/Wedding Pavilion! Built specifically for mountain weddings, receptions and more, with room for up to 100 guests, this pavilion is the perfect location for whatever event you plan to host. There is electricity, lighting and much more for hosting your special occasion. 25 minutes' drive (16 miles) to downtown Asheville, our secluded Cottage & Retreat homes on Bearwallow Mountain have breathtaking views of Blue Ridge Mountains from spacious front porches, back decks & covered verandas. Newly built, and/or upgraded kitchen and bathrooms. Right-off-the-property, easy-access hiking trails to breath-taking views.on the top of the Bearwallow mountainside; just a short drive to just about everything. It is VERY easy to access the homes, via only paved roads right up to Bearwallow Mountain Road, which is gravel, but used by all vehicles. The home affords year round access, does NOT require 4-wheel drive except in Winter.

Open, light-filled interiors with bedrooms & full baths, and ample loft spaces plus so much indoor gathering spaces at both homes. Inviting, spacious outdoor areas with breath-taking views ideal for lounging, birdwatching, dining, dancing and truly getting away from it all. With mountain & forest views, high ceilings, vaulted spaces, wood, carpet and tile floors, you will immediately feel at home at both Bearwallow Retreat & Bearwallow Cottage. (That is of course if you can tear yourself away from the relaxing forest views & soaking in spectacle of the Blue Ridge Mountains, & actually venture inside!) If you need some "alone time", there is plenty of space inside and out to find your own serenity. There are outside porches, decks, and patios for ultimate outdoor relaxation & private forest views, and the large hot tub.

Kids & adults love getting out in and around the expansive private enclave & explore the other outdoor areas. While everyone enjoys the homes and on-site & nearby amenities, you can pull up a chair and take in the relaxing privacy afforded by the mountainside forest view, observe the night as it fills with stars, and watch the fire flies come out to play in your backyard. Or, toast some s'mores and share stories, well into the star-filled nights at the expansive outdoor fire-pit.

The private estate property offers lots of acreage for nature walks and exploring, and other exercise on the mountain without leaving the community property. You also can walk to 2 different off-site hiking trails on Bearwallow Mountain. And of course, just relaxing in the hot tub with a beer or glass of wine & letting everything bubble away.

You are just minutes from America's favorite scenic byway, The Blue Ridge Parkway, motorcycle touring, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, Segway tour…just about any outdoor activity! Or, take a quick ride to downtown Hendersonville, or up to downtown Asheville to enjoy the first-rate restaurants, shopping, galleries, spas, and entertainment.

Yonder openly shares our Cleaning Fees in a manner of full disclosure, as we think this is the most honest and forthright approach with respect to our guests. Our Cleaning Fees are backed by our Clean Guarantee, which reflects the highest level of standards, pristine environments for our guests, and a level of clean that surpasses any other vacation homes; we literally guarantee it!

Early Check In and/or Late Check Out may be possible, depending on cleaning schedules and other reservations. If it is possible, there may be an additional fee that would be determined based on the time that you wish to check in or out and the seasonal rates.

Events: Events are allowed at this property for up to 100 guests. NOTE: All events will have fees associated with hosting an event, and determined/finalized after speaking with the events director of the property. Please talk with a Yonder Guest Experience Specialist for a referral to the events director to discuss all that The Poplars at Bearwallow Mountain has to offer as an event space, as well as discuss costs associated for an event fee. The Pavilion has electricity, a sound system, lighting and water access. As well, enjoy the use, set up and break down of high quality tables and X back style chairs for your event.

Pets: Many of our guests have allergies so we have maintained a pet-free environment so they can enjoy their vacation without the potential of an allergic reaction. If you have a pet we can recommend some alternatives nearby.

Perfect Weekend in a Beautiful Location

"Everything about the weekend was perfect. The location is beautiful and well kept. There is plenty of room for large gathrings with areas for privacy. We had a few questions during our stay and we received prompt answers when we reached out. There were a few minor mishaps during our stay (ie no WiFi and a breaker blew) but nothing we would ever complain about. You can't go wrong with this rental. Just an FYI for future renters, It is a approximately 25 minutes to Asheville and we had difficulty getting an UBER or Lyft to bring us to town. However, this was just a minor inconvenience and is not a reflection of this property.

"Both houses are incredibly well laid out and maintained...and all beds very comfortable! To say the views were stunning would be an understatement. Property is close to Trombatore hiking trail. There is a very nice private trail directly from the houses to the public hiking trail. Our families enjoyed walking part of Trombatore Trail. We saw deer late one night in the yard. We rented the houses for our families to stay together before and after our daughter's wedding. To get to the houses you have to drive over a very windy road with lots of switchbacks and a portion that is gravel...but so worth it. The drive was no problem for our vehicles; however, be aware the roads will not accommodate a large limo or party bus. Highly recommend the property and hope to be able to come back again!

"Our family group of 23, ages 8 months to 84 years had a wonderful time exploring Asheville and Lake Lure from this beautiful property. The deck on the retreat house was perfect for toddlers and kids to be safe and adults to enjoy their coffee outdoors. The bigger kids, ages 3-12, loved the pickle ball court and hiking the trails adjacent to the property. The kitchens were well outfitted to accommodate a large crowd. The homes were comfortable and quiet.

"We had an awesome weekend with family and friends celebrating our daughter turning 30! Spent a lot of time on the covered deck playing bags (supplied by property) chatting and using the hot tub. Hikes right off the property. There is so much to do right on the property, but also took a scenic drive through Chimney Rock and spent the day at Lake Lure. Both homes are well stocked and conveniently labeled which was appreciated by all!

Family Reunion / Vacay

"We have a large family and wanted to spend vacation in the mountains since we have traditionally done the beach each year. These two large beautiful homes with incredible views and so close together gave us that opportunity. The pavilion was a great place for pickle ball tournaments and general running around by the kids. The expansive decks on both properties afforded ample gathering space for our large crew. The huge lawn on the hill gave kids plenty of space to run, roll, and slip-and-slide. We hiked some great trails right off of the property as well as those nearby. Everyone in our group fell in love with these homes and Bearwallow Mountain. Property management was easy to work with and the owners live just down the mountain. They were quick to respond to little requests, like a lighter to get the fire pit going. There is absolutely no need to leave the property, but we did make a trip into Asheville for a brewery tour and also to Lake Lure for some pontoon rentals. We all came home with buckets full of memories of a fabulous family reunion vacation.

Wonderful Weekend Trip

"We and 3 other families (8 kids ages 4-9) stayed at the two cabins for a long weekend and had a wonderful trip. Check-in was easy, the cabins were very clean with great amenities, and the location on the top of a ridge with amazing views of the valleys below was incredible. The cabins are very kid friendly. We needed someone to look at one of the refrigerators (turned out it was fine) at 6:30 the first night and someone arrived a little after 7:00 a incredible service! We would definitely stay again.

"The property was amazing. The cabins were up to date and extremely well equipped. We loved the pickle ball court, and the easy access to the hiking trails. The fire pits were grey and stocked with the woods, the hot tubs were great and the views spectacular. We couldn’t have had a better place for our large family gathering.
