Events are allowed for up to 100 guests with prior approval and associated event fees. Guests must book both Bearwallow Retreat and Bearwallow Cottage to host an event. Check out the combined listing here

Note: All events will have fees associated with hosting an event, and determined/finalized after speaking with the events director of the property. Please talk with a Yonder Guest Experience Specialist for a referral to the events director to discuss all that The Poplars at Bearwallow Mountain has to offer as an event space, as well as discuss costs associated for an event fee. The Pavilion has electricity, a sound system, lighting and water access. As well, enjoy the use, set up and break down of high quality tables and X back style chairs for your event.

"This place was phenomenal! Not only were the hosts so accommodating and replied in a timely manner, we needed a maintenance fix during our stay and it was completed in under an hour! Even got to meet the man that is in charge of the property and he was the sweetest soul. It was the perfect size for our group, had so many fun things to do like the pickleball court, nearby hiking trails, and the hottub! It was a perfect escape for our weekend getaway and I can’t wait to hopefully book here again in the future! Would recommend for groups of friends, families, or any big group of people just wanting to get away!

"The entire space, home, deck, hot tub, & surroundings were spotless. I wore white socks all day in the house & they didn’t get dirty at all! The very clean, roomy hot tub was used every day by kids & adults. We enjoyed the firepit & all the nice dry wood & kindling too. Beds & pillows were very comfy. There are crock pots, pots & pans, two cookie sheets, utensils, & spatulas, etc. for cooking. A very nice surprise was plenty of empty containers (extra large bowl & baskets) to put fruit and snacks in. The only thing we missed was a mixer when making cookies & the ice maker in the refrigerator didn’t work. We had a bag of ice, so didn’t bother reporting it. We cooked all but one or two of our meals during the week at the home. We had 3 families & a niece & there was more than enough room. The grocery store we used is Ingles. Nice-very much like Publix. It’s a 30 minute drive from the house-be sure to get all you think you need while there. Drive slow & carefully up to the house-there are several hairpin turns. We had hoped for snow, but we’re glad we didn’t get it because of the steep, winding roads going up to the house. It would be great to have beach towels to use when getting out of the hot tub-especially since there’s no more than one towel per person in the bathrooms. Views from the home & hot tub are amazing. You can walk to several nice hiking trails from the house! Very quiet & peaceful! Only hated having to pay so much in fees to VRBO and Yonder! Would love to return!

"We stayed 3 nights at Bearwallow Retreat and we loved it. The house was beautiful, well-built, and well furnished. We were 13 people and felt we had enough space. We enjoyed the hot tub and the pickleball pavillion, even though we had to make some adjustments to play pickleball in the covered pavillion. Had it not been covered we had daily rain which would have been worse! Everything was great. I recommend.

"This retreat was above and beyond anything, anything we could’ve ever expected. The host’s attention to detail showed just how loved and cared for this property is. From the labeled drawers, to the electric car charger this property had everything we needed and also everything we didn’t realize we needed until our stay! We were in town for a wedding but once we arrived we wished the wedding was actually on the property! The pavilion/pickle ball court provided so many hours of activity & exercise, and the hiking trails were a dream! The house was exactly what you would picture for the ideal mountain house! The next time we come back we intend to rent out the entire poplars for a family affair!

"One of the best vacation rentals I've ever stayed in. The property was one of the highlights and even better than expected with pickleball, disc golf, and trails - plenty of space to roam around and play. The deck and house were clean, spacious, and luxurious with plenty of space for a big group. Kitchen well stocked. Owner and management were responsive and fixed problems as they arose. We had a wonderful week, thank you so much - we will stay here again. Only critiques - some squeaky beds and the hot tub kept getting stinky(might need a better chlorine/sanitation method)

"Look no further, you have found the place you want to stay. This property exceeded all expectations. It was a beautiful location, with a better view than expected and plenty of room for outdoor activities. There is access to a hiking trail right out back, and many other hikes close by. You are close to downtown, about 25 minutes away so you have the feeling of being up in the mountains but so close to all the activities! The house was perfect, clean, spacious and well stocked. If you have any questions they are very quick to respond. They responded to me less than 10 minutes each time I had a question. The pickle ball court was a big bonus. I had never played before, but will adding a new hobby to the list. From start to finish this was a great experience.

"This home and property were immaculate. The deck and hot tub were well taken care of, the views were amazing, and the pickle ball court was a ton of fun. I would not hesitate to book, or you will be sorry! The host was excellent and made sure to let us know they’d be available for any questions or help during our stay, which was appreciated. The kitchen was pristine and the drawers were all labeled to ensure we’d find the accessories we needed for cooking. All beds were comfortable, bathrooms were spotless, and there was plenty of additional towels to last our stay. This was one of my favorite properties I’ve stayed at and provided the perfect weekend getaway. 100% recommend.

80th Birthday Celebration

"It was a great property and was exactly as described. The beds were very comfortable and everyone had a place to spread out. The gate was closed when we arrived and there were no instructions on how to open it. We made a quick call to Yonder and they were able to help us but it would have been more convenient if that was included in the instructions. Everyone had a great time celebrating my father-in-law's 80th birthday.

"This place is so so pretty!! It’s the perfect place to have a family getaway, very private with LOTS OF AMENITIES. We were able to play tennis, hop in the jacuzzi, walk around the trails nearby and the kids enjoyed it a lot. The house is fully equipped, they literally have everything you need! "This place is even better than the pictures!! New construction. Walking distance or short driving distance from hikes. The material for to dos, stores, hikes, etc was very informative. We were there for a yoga retreat and it was the perrrfecctt space for that. The pavilion was a huge plus for our classes and workshops. The communication was great, and I would definitely book this spot for another retreat or just to enjoy.

"I stayed at Bearwallow Retreat with several couples for a long weekend, and we had a wonderful time! The house and grounds were beautiful! The house was clean and the kitchen had great cooking equipment. The large kitchen table and open floor plan with comfy furniture were perfect for our group. There was a great view from the hot tub and deck outside! Lots of space and privacy around the house. The pickleball court was a nice addition as well. We'd love to stay here again next year!

"Wonderful stay! House is amazing and the pavilion with the pickle ball court was a nice addition. Owner was there when we arrived and was very kind and helpful. 30-35 minute to downtown Asheville. We had a big group so we made sure to call/reserve taxis ahead of time! We used AVL taxis.

"The house was very clean and had everything we needed when my friends and I stayed there. Plenty of room for the 8 of us. It's only about 35 minutes from downtown Asheville. The pickleball court was a great hit too!

Well Equipped with Excellent Outdoor Amenities

"Brand-new house, very well equipped, with excellent outdoor amenities! It's very close to the Trombatore Trail, which you can take in different directions to two different mountain peaks with great views. A few minutes away by car is the Wildcat Rock Trail; more challenging, but great views (just don't bother going past Wildcat Rock!) The hot tub and the fire pit are wonderful touches, and the outdoor deck is very safe for little ones. The kitchen was well equipped, and lots of bathrooms with showers throughout the house. We loved our time here!

"Super cute house with great amenities and not a bad drive to asheville! The house is off of a steep, unpaved road that caused some difficulties for some of our groups' cars to get up. But overall a great house!

Great Views, Relaxing Cabin with Many Amenities

"Wonderful time staying in this property. The Hot tub was delightful. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and the grill came in handy! Amazing views and a wonderful hiking trail just up the road with even more breathtaking views! Great stay, clean with everything you need and more!

Awesome stay

"The house was immaculate and beautiful - just how it looked in pics! The Property around was scenic and very mountainous. Annie the owner was very friendly and gave very good tips for things to do in area and encouraged us to let her know if there was anything she could do for us! Definitely would stay again! Our group of 11 was very satisfied and immensely enjoyed our short vacation!

Wonderful

"Our experience with our cabin and service from Yonder Luxury Vacation Rentals could not have been better. After an initial cancellation from another property, Yonder was on it to make sure that we could find another home for our vacation that fit the space and needs we asked for originally! All linens were provided for us which made traveling with a big family of 11- wonderful. We loved everything about Bearwallow Retreat, its spacious with all items you need or could ask for. The the deck and hot tub we felt so relaxed and able to use the grill and enjoy such a needed get away in the mountains with family! We also used the trail behind the house and ventured out to Chimney Rock and Biltmore House. All less then 30 mins away! Thanks again Yonder!
