"We LOVED our apartment! It was stylish, had everything we needed and more. The location was great for us too- we could get everywhere we wanted to in the evening (restaurants, breweries, etc.) by foot. It was also nice and quiet despite it being smack in the middle of town. Parking worked out well for us too, always found a space right on our street and we rarely needed to pay more than a half hour since we were driving to nearby hiking places during the day. We'll definitely stay here again. (The coffee in the room was great too, btw!)

"The apartment was centrally located and very easy to access with the provided directions. It was tastefully decorated and the comfortable beds were very welcome after a long day of traveling. While the apartment was overall clean, we did have some issues with pet hair clumps left from previous renters which triggered my son’s allergies. Regardless of this hiccup, we’d happily choose to stay at this location again as the easy access to entertainment through the smart TVs, overall comfortable setup and gracious hosts more than made up for it.

"The location of this unit was wonderful and close to everything. We enjoyed sitting on the small deck and taking the morning sun. The unit it self is on the small size, which we expected. The issue was with the tiny bedroom. The king bed is too big for the room. The size is about 9.5x 9.5 ft. There is no window or closet in the this room. The parking was a bit inconvenient, especially if you had groceries. The street parking is free if you park after 5:00 pm and leave before 8:00 am. The main complaint we had was that the unit appeared it was not rented for sometime as it was dusty and it needed a light cleaning. There weren’t enough towels in the unit and when we went to retrieve some from the supply cabinet there were none. We did wash towels 2 times…. We addressed the cleanliness with the manager and they provided a credit. Overall it was a pleasant stay

Great downtown getaway

"The location was perfect. Walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go downtown. A short drive to Biltmore and to the mountains for a day hike. Nicely stocked with supplies, dishes, etc. It was a bit dusty (entertainment center, floor, tray in the kitchen where the coffee and paper towel were) Bed pillows were comfortable but we weren't as comfortable on the bed. There is no dresser to store clothes, but a closet to hang clothes with 10 hangers. There were several homeless people sleeping on the street only a few steps from the building. It was nice having a balcony for people watching and to enjoy the view. Overall it was a good weekend getaway.

"The location was great. I would have like to see a nicer/newer mattress in the main bedroom along with nicer bed linens. The older mattress isn’t great for people with back issues. The place was centrally located and the communication was excellent. Easy to get in touch with. There is a nice little bar below the condo that is pretty convenient too.

"Close to everything. No ice-maker, no garbage disposal. We were not in this condo for any long duration… Mostly just the night. So all of the negative comments worked just fine for us. The biggest problem was the horrible Wi-Fi. If you need to do work while you’re staying here… You may want to reconsider because of the Wi-Fi connection.

"Location was great. The living area was nice as well as the outside porch. However, there was an inadequate supply of glasses and plates. There were only three stools and one was too high for the counter. The king bed was comfortable but was hard for me to get in and out of the bed since there is only 6 inches on one side. How about moving the bed over a bit and placing a shelf with a reading light there? Also. Please check the floors since we found some protruding the nails in the hallway and in the bathroom. We loved the location with an easy walk to downtown. We enjoyed our visit.

Two Couple Stay

"With the cost split between two couples, this place couldn’t have been more perfect for our long weekend in Asheville. We were able to see our car in the parking garage from the living room windows, we left it parked the whole time and walked to all of our destinations. "This condo is amazing, the little terrace is quaint and they don’t skimp like some properties—there is plenty of paper towels, trash bag, laundry pods, and toilet paper just to name a few. The condo itself is clean and beautiful. When we had an issue at check in accessing the front door, someone immediately texted and took care of it in minutes. Highly recommended and we’ll stay there again.

"Loved the location and the bed was very comfortable. Bedroom only has a bed and one bedside table. No closet or place to unpack. Hall closet has to be used for coats and hanging clothes. Would have been nice to have body lotion and conditioner vs just one small container of shampoo. Again, location made it all worthwhile and was clean

"My daughter & I came to Asheville to shop, eat & see the Biltmore at Christmas. The location for this property was excellent. We felt very safe in the well light area between two churches. The convenience & cost for the recommended garage was excellent as well. Very happy with our stay. I would have loved to have had a box of Kleenex in the bathroom. Thanks for a great stay!

"This is in the absolutely perfect location in downtown Asheville. Parking was simple, walking distance to literally everything and there’s a pub right downstairs!! Beds were comfortable. One bedroom doesn’t have windows…but there’s so much to do in Asheville, you won’t be in the condo all that much anyway. The hosts were very responsive and helpful and accessing the place was very easy.

"In terms of proximity to all that downtown has to offer & yet on a quiet street, this place was pretty ideal. It’s plunk in the middle, mere blocks in each direction to great restaurants, brewpubs & shopping. Really nice to be on top floor too. Also we were specifically looking for a balcony for morning coffee & a drink at night (although the furniture pillows out there are feeling their age). Everything was very clean. Nice linens and comfortable bed. Definitely a place for 2 max. though. Room is tight & closet space is an issue if you’re staying for awhile (due to the design, there is no space for a dresser in the condo so we had to put our suitcases on the floor in the living room to live out of. There are a couple drawers in a living room hutch but we opted out). The washer/dryer is a savior. We would recommend you bring 2 door hooks (that go over the top of the door) for the bathroom and bedroom. Nightlights are recommended as are condiments (no sugar, salt or pepper provided - maybe the owner is a cardiologist). Parking is an annoying inconvenience (especially in bad weather) & a $ add on but not much the owners can do. That being said, as others have noted no place is perfect & we had a great time. You apparently can’t give half stars….

"Overall, the stay was great. The location of the condo is perfect to walk almost anywhere downtown. Parking is a short block away. There are 4 parking spots in front of the building which makes it very easy to unload/load your luggage and unload groceries. The only things that I didn't like were not having a side table on both sides of the bed and having difficulty getting into the bed on that side because there are only 8-10 inches of space between the wall and the bed. I needed to keep my phone, water glass, book, etc. on the floor next to the bed and climb up onto the bed to get to my side. Having said this, these are things that have been reported in reviews multiple times, and would not deter me from renting the space again.

"The unit was well stocked and perfectly clean. Bed was comfortable and sheets were crisp and cool. Amazing location. The only complaint I might have is that the Wi-Fi fades when you go into the bedroom. Also, sometimes you just want to watch football and we were unable to see the Alabama Georgia game because we couldn’t get CBS. They had plenty of TV options with Netflix, Amazon prime and Sling. But we couldn’t watch CBS or any networks. Or maybe I just couldn’t figure it out. Not enough to knock a star off, but spending a few bucks on basic cable wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Perfect location and quiet building

"Everything was wonderful with the exception of only two things. The bed is not comfortable and we were each sinking in our spots. After the first night, we slept sideways on the bed to avoid back aches in the morning. Also, there were no steak knives in the house so cutting limes and lemons was difficult. Other than that, it was a perfect location to everything and parking was easy. You hardly knew anyone else was occupying the other condos as well. Loved the porch to sit and chill out. Would recommend to anyone.

"The unit was nicely decorated. Although the bedroom was tight, the bed was comfortable. One suggestion is to be more clear about the parking situation. "We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. Perfect location and overall unit was clean except for some major dust on ceiling HVAC vents, bathroom light fixtures and inside the armoire in LR which we used to put clothes. Not a big deal but this should be addressed. Parking at the deck will cost an extra $10 a day. I would definitely stay at this condo again.

"Great location that is very walkable to many shops and restaurants, and the porch is great for relaxing and watching the happenings of downtown. The bed is also comfortable, and the window-less bedroom away from the noises of downtown helped us sleep soundly. Check-in and check-out was very easy and clearly explained in advance. The lack of parking is a drawback, and common with downtown properties, but that is clearly explained in the property description. The garage a few blocks away helps, but it is an extra $20/day and may be at capacity on busy weekends. Overall, this was our second time staying at The Altamont, and we would definitely stay there again!

"This condo is in a perfect location. The size is all you need for 2 people and the balcony very nice. Bed was comfortable. Only complaints were it needing a good cleaning (baseboards had layers of dust) and the internet was very slow. The property manager did a great job at trying to help but it never worked more than 10 minutes consistently. We'd stay again though. Nice place all in all.

Great place but minimalist

"Great location and nice space. Very clean. Lovely furnishings. Nice roomy balcony. Kitchen is sparse but functional. It had everything advertised but nothing more. Great for simple cooking for two, like breakfast. Bathroom was a good size for such a small place. We did struggle with a place to set up luggage/unpack. There was one luggage stand but no place in the bedroom to put it. We ended up using the front hall as our dressing room. Bedroom has one small nightstand and the king bed takes up the whole room. One person has to be agile to climb in and out of bed. Host was great to work with. Parking in the recommended garage was easy. Only information missing was where to park to unload. We found the loading zone right in front after we paid for on street parking that was almost as far away as the garage. Unless you have a lot to unload I would suggest just rolling your luggage from the garage.

Nice Property, Great Location

"I rented this unit for two nights in downtown Asheville. It's in great shape, was very clean upon arrival, and convenient on foot to all central downtown attractions, such as restaurants/shops, the civic center, auditorium, etc (visiting Biltmore would require a car for example). The unit has a bathroom with a shower (no tub). The kitchen is nice and is in the living room in the manner of an efficiency apartment. The photos online accurately reflect the condo. The owner was very helpful throughout the rental process. There are hardwood floors throughout the unit and a washer/dryer (which I did not use). There is an elevator and stairs up to the condo. It was very quiet despite being near main streets. There is access to a balcony on the rear of the unit from the living room, which is nice in good weather. I would recommend this unit to Asheville visitors.

Fantastic Condo in Downtown Asheville

"We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect and convenient by foot to everything downtown. The condo was very clean and newly updated and met all of our needs (the pictures don't even do it justice. It is just beautiful). The view from the balcony was awesome, and even better when we woke up to snow on our last morning! The owner was very nice and quick to answer all my questions. We would recommend this condo to anyone. Restaurants we recommend close by: Pack's Tavern, Early Girl Eatery for brunch, and Tupelo Cafe for breakfast/brunch.

Great Escape!

"The condo was a perfect, restful place to get away from a normally hectic life. Church street is so peaceful and within walking distance of everything you will need. We enjoyed a variety of restaurants including Easy Over, The Noodle Shop, Table and Mediterranean just to name a few. I would highly recommend The Altamont for it was a great experience and we will return.

"Spent 4 nights at this great place and great location.The listing was accurate, as well as the photos. The unit was clean, and welcoming.The owner was very nice and gave great recommendations for places to go dine as well as entertainment suggestions. I was traveling alone and felt so comfortable walking back these great “diggs" at night. The street is well lite.I would recommend this property to everyone. I would recommend The Orange Peel for music and or events. I dined at Limones, Posana, Tupelo Honey Cafe, Early Girl Eatery, Bouchon and Chai Pani to name a few. All Excellent. Chocolate Lovers must go French Broad Chocolate Lounge. Also went on Eating Asheville, walking food tour - excellent. Can't wait to stay at this Citylicious "diggs" again

"We stayed 4 nights and it was perfect for us. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room but it was quiet at night, the bed was comfortable and the balcony view was great! We needed an iron at one point and it was provided before we got back that afternoon. The door and entry were all secured and the spacious elevator was awesome for bringing luggage in and then back out when we left. Will definitely use again on our next visit! We parked at the aloft garage as a lot of the lots adjacent to the condo had weird hours and honestly we couldn't figure them out.

Super Location! Nice Building!

"The location of the condo was spectacular. We were right in the middle of everything. There was a concert one night we were there, and the music drifted upstairs in a most pleasant manner. We were able to get parking right behind the building over the weekend. Passport Parking is the local parking app, and zone 119 is right at the Altamont. The bedroom is very full with the bed so there is limited ability to unpack your bag. It's not a dealbreaker but something to know! I would suggest that having shampoo and soap in the bathroom would be nice. Other units that I have rented in Asheville have that.

"A great 1 bedroom loft condo in the heart of downtown. The check in info was clear and concise making arrival easy and getting settled quickly. Very thoughtful details. We immediately went out on the balcony which was a nice extra, my partner was worried about us getting locked out there and I laughed at him cuz I noticed right away it could only be locked with deadbolt from inside. We parked in the Rankin Avenue lot as we wanted to just leave the car and our stay was into weekdays. It literally was a 2 minute walk to this condo. We wouldn't stay anywhere else when we return to Asheville. Thank You

Close to everything, would stay here again!

"This apartment was great. The location was within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go and the apartment itself was nice. The reason for 4 out of 5 stars instead of a solid 5 is just the size of the apartment. While it does sleep 4 people there is not a lot of room so you better be close with everyone you are staying with. The bedroom has a nice king bed but no closet in it or place to put suitcases either in the living room or in the bedroom. We absolutely loved our stay here and would stay here again, just be conscious that the apartment itself is a little tight. That being said, I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to spend a few days in Asheville exploring the city.
