Special Update – Lake Lure Reopening
Exciting news for Lake Lure guests: Lake Lure is officially open following Hurricane Helene, and normal lake use has resumed! Previous lakewide no-wake restrictions have been lifted, so guests can once again enjoy boating and time on the water while continuing to follow all posted no-wake zones, boating guidelines, and local lake rules.
Chimney Rock businesses are also open and ready to welcome visitors back. This is a wonderful time to return to the area, enjoy the lake, explore Chimney Rock, and support the local businesses and communities that make this region so special. Please note that public docks remain closed at this time. Guests who would like to get out on the water can rent boats through Yonder, with delivery available for lakefront homes or pickup available at the southernmost point of the lake.
Experience the freedom of exploring the tranquil beauty of Lake Lure while captaining your own pontoon boat with Lake Life Rentals. Including a pontoon boat in your mountain vacation is the best way to get out on the water with family and friends and create wonderful vacation memories.
The Lure has a 12-person capacity, lots of comfortable seating and space allowing you a customized experience for your day on the water. Each boat is fully-equipped for your enjoyment with large bimini tops for shade and a quiet 60 hp mercury engine. Rates include all USCG required safety equipment such as life jackets.
Our website will allow 5 + days rentals only, but you can still rent for less than 5 days! Please simply call our office at 888 699 2987 and we will be happy to assist.
Details:
- Boat is delivered to the guest at their respective lake house or meet/pick you up at a designated location determined by Lake Life
- Orientation will be provided by a Lake Life representative at the beginning of the rental
- Support during all daylight hours. (town prohibits boat rentals to be used after dark)
- Minimum age for boat renter is 26
- Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting January 1st, 2025 through the first quarter of the year (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. For more information click here. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season.
Please note that not all lake front properties will allow a rental boat to dock onsite. Please check with our team to determine if it's an option.
