Modern home with updated finishes, furnishings, and more. There is plenty to do while at this splendid home, but you are also so conveniently located just outside of downtown Black Mountain, and close to Asheville & more.
Location: Private home located in a private little development with only 2 other homes. You are app. 5 minutes from downtown Black Mountain, 20 minutes to downtown Asheville, and approximately 35 minutes from the Asheville Regional Airport. Home is accessed via only paved and fully maintained roads, right up to the development, then the roads are gravel. (All-Wheel or 4-Wheel drive suggested in the Winter or during inclement weather.)

The home affords year-round access and is great for groups of all ages. The home is situated just outside of downtown Black Mountain, NC, affording the privacy of a custom-built mountain home, and space for everyone to relax & enjoy the feel of the WNC mountains.
Get ready to be “wowed” by this specialty-built mountain-style retreat. With soaring vistas, high ceilings, vaulted rooms, and cozy spaces, you will immediately feel at home at The High Life. (That is, of course, if you can tear yourself away from the wrap-around decks & soaking in the spectacle of relaxing amidst the splendor of the Blue Ridge Mountains, & actually venture inside!) The relatively newly constructed Arts & Crafts home affords a stunning great room, Chef's grade kitchen, a lower level Family Room, and MORE, with plenty of space to unwind and gather with your group. But, if you need some “alone time”, there is plenty of space inside and out to find your own serenity. There are 4 outside porches, decks, and patios, including the rocking chair porch for ultimate outdoor relaxation.

While at The High Life, everyone enjoys all that the home has to offer; from the multiple gathering spaces, the garage Game Room, and of course the spectacular decks, where you can pull up a chair and take in the "sound of silence", observe the night as it fills with stars, and watch the fire flies come out to play in your backyard. Take a seat and enjoy the sound of nature and the serenity in your own private paradise in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Black Mountain is app. less than 5 minutes away with its shops, fine dining, antiques, live entertainment, and much more. You are also just a short drive from America’s favorite scenic byway, The Blue Ridge Parkway, motorcycle touring, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, Segway tour…just about any outdoor activity! Or, take a ride to downtown Asheville to enjoy the first-rate restaurants, shopping, galleries, spas, and entertainment.

Perfect for our family

"We really enjoyed our time at the house. The Property Management company - Especially Kim, was very responsive and showed up not long after we called with somethings that needed attention. Be prepared for a drive up a gravel mountain road and a steep driveway- I would recommend larger vehicles and 4 wheel drive. The house had great view as advertised and was perfect for our family which had 8 people.

"We enjoyed our stay at the High Life so much! The house was so spacious and enjoyed the views from the decks at all times of the day and evening! The layout of the home provided both privacy and quiet but also a large main floor for everyone to be together. Several reviews mentioned the parking. It was a little tight but we were able to get three cars there with a little maneuvering. We found it best to back in.

"The High Life exceeded our expectations (and they were already high)! The open floor plan with the kitchen area was excellent for hanging out together during the day and meal times. There were several established tables that could seat our family for meals (including the large table outside that made you feel as if you were dining amongst the trees). There were several TV areas that could seat all of us for watching shows. Additionally, we loved playing ping pong every night. The rooms were spacious and allowed everyone to have their own space to relax and hang out on their own, if desired, and all of the porches boasted fantastic views! We would stay at this property again, and will definitely use Yonder for every possible vacation in the futue.

"Had a spectacular time at the High Life! The reservation and check in/out processes were very easy. Especially liked that we did not have to check in or out at a physical location as the house has a coded entry. We were even graciously afforded the chance to check in a little early and check out a little late at no extra charge which was greatly appreciated. The house is beautiful and is in a most gorgeous setting. We really felt we were far away from the hustle and bustle, yet in great, well-provisioned accommodations. We were there as a surprise birthday party for my husband, and we couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate. The house was even better than described, and we would certainly stay there again. The layout of the house was probably the best we've stayed in, and we really enjoyed the large open kitchen/dining/living area. Thanks to the folks at Yonder who did a great job of answering questions beforehand and communicating throughout the process. Wonderful stay!

"We rented this place for a girls’ mountain weekend, and it was even more beautiful than the pictures! The house is HUGE. The floor plan is open and perfect for large groups. Plenty of space to spread out in the living spaces and many porches. Getting to downtown Asheville was an easy 30 minute drive, but it was nice to be in a secluded area with the beautiful views of the mountains. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. This rental is operated by an agency that is very professional and always responded quickly to questions. They even allowed early check-in, which we appreciated!

"The house was absolutely beautiful and we had a great time! Beautiful views and layout of the house made it great for everyone to be together. Only downfall is the drive to the house was a little anxiety inducing for those not used to gravel road. But after doing the drive a couple times, we got used to it and had no issues.

Secluded, But Close…

"This is a great space, secluded, but close to town. There is room to spread out and room for numerous guests to stay without being crowded. Communication, check in and check out were a breeze. Supplies were exactly as stated; there were no surprises. We would definitely stay here again!

Outstanding Views

"The cabin is located in a beautiful spot with outstanding views of the mountains. The master bedroom is particularly delightful with a large spacious bathroom including a Jacuzzi and a beautiful patio that overlooks the mountains and valleys below. The cabin is extremely well equipped and furnished very nicely. I would recommend this cabin highly and I hope to return to stay there again.

My Mom’s Birthday Trip

"I had to work in Black Mountain a few years ago and absolutely fell in love with the area! I have gone back several times since and wanted to plan a trip up there to take my family for my mother's birthday! This home did not disappoint! The home was gorgeous, located close enough to the downtown area and had INCREDIBLE views! Normally, to get these views in a rental, you can have a very long difficult drive...Not with this one! It was conveniently located to downtown Black Mountain, an easy drive to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway! Plenty of room for a large group and a Ping Pong table for everyone to enjoy! I'd highly recommend this home to anyone!

"Beautiful stay. We have two kiddos and had zero issues here. Super clean. Minimal, yet had everything we need. Which is great because we didn’t have to hassle with breakable things in tiny-arms-reach. Back porch felt really secure. Easy to use fireplace made warming up super easy and cozy quick. Beautiful Home in the Mountains

"This is a beautiful home in the mountains. The location is a little difficult to find at first and I would not recommend arriving at night. As others mentioned, a suv vehicle is optimal for getting to the location. Very basic supplies are provided. Coffee for one pot, sugar, one roll of paper towels and a couple of rolls of toilet paper in each bath room. The master bed was very comfortable and there are lots of outdoor spots for sitting and enjoying the view. It was mostly quiet but a neighbor's dog and rooster (which was charming at first but not after listening all day) marred the enjoyment of sitting and enjoying the views. There is no where to walk in the immediate vicinity, if that is important. We did enjoy it as a home base for exploring the mountains and Asheville.

Wonderful home and rental experience!

"I will start by giving Yonder, 5-stars for their patience, assistance, cleanliness of the home, quality of linens, starter supplies and responsiveness. I will certainly return to a Yonder property! There were six adults (3 couples) traveling. We were celebrating an anniversary, three birthdays and were looking for some quality down time together and a home that would accommodate privacy for all three couples. After days of searching we decided on The High Life. We were not disappointed! The home is beautiful, well stocked with all types of kitchen equipment. The converted garage contained a sitting area, full size fridge, ping-pong table, large screen T.V., and lead into the downstairs guest room area that had a mini-fridge, sitting area, small bedroom and small bathroom… but adequate for needs. The home is built to take advantage of the marvelous views. The main living area does not have a bedroom… which is great use of the commons area space… large kitchen and separate bar with /ice maker. The furniture is very comfortable and sitting at the dining areas (2 sitting tables and bar seating) is excellent. The separate of the bedrooms is ideal for folks traveling together. The large laundry room with detergent stocked made it easy to wash/dry. We were there in November, and there were quite a number of ladybugs inside the home.. but really didn’t pose a big issue. We had to contact Yonder because we couldn’t get the fireplace to light, and the maintenance tech was at our door in under .40 minutes and got the fire place working for us. Home recommendations: The owner has done a fabulous job.. these are minor suggestions: Master bath… Suggest around the windows around the tub need some type of blind/covering. Showering at night felt odd with the black mountain back drop and light on inside. Remove live plants.. they seem to be mostly dead anyway—very hard for staff to maintain plants… We were only .35 minutes to Biltmore gates (our driving time), and the shops in Black Mountain are good for a leisure afternoon of shopping. Thank you for sharing The High Life with us!!!! We loved it!! Highly recommend it!

"What a great time our family had at The High Life, in Black Mountain, NC. It’s not far from Asheville and the historic Biltmore Estate. It never felt like we were in a rental at all, felt more like a good friend’s home….a wealthy friend at that. I don’t even know where to start, but our family is pretty much into eating and cooking so the kitchen, pantry and gas grill were a focal point. Six gas burners on the stove, convection oven, walk-in pantry with everything from frying pans to s’more makers. If someone really hated being on vacation, they could even make a cheesecake in the spring-form pan. Lol The grill was great, with a back-up propane tank. The bedrooms were awesome and the master suite was spectacular! Master Brooks was the first two try it out. And then there was the view and the town of Black Mountain. WOW!! We found awesome trails and all kinds of things that I never expected. I always thought that I was a “water girl”, but the view in the mountains is ever changing and like I said before, spectacular! We’re looking forward to trying another one of their beautiful homes someday!

Awesome Cabin!

"This cabin is awesome! It is very spacious and clean, plus the view of the mountains is amazing! My group stayed here while celebrating a bachelorette and it was the perfect size/ layout for such. There's a wonderful living area and kitchen, which is where we hung out most often, as well as plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, which is a must for a large group. The one thing I will note is that the drive up to the cabin and the driveway itself can be a bit tricky if you don't have a 4x4 car. It's certainly doable, but it rained during our stay and made backing out of the driveway VERY difficult, even for my SUV. Pair that with the neighbors being unforgiving about people being slightly near their driveway in the process of turning around and it makes for a frustrating situation. This is not the host's fault however; it's a mountain house, so it just comes with the territory! Uber/ Lyft were pretty hard for us to get at the cabin, but I might chalk that up to it being COVID times. We were able to hail taxis, which did the job just fine. The ride into Asheville's downtown is about 20-30 minutes. I would definitely suggest this cabin to large groups- reunions, bachelorettes, and other similar events. The hosts were great about communication and provided a fun, clean place for us to celebrate our dear friends.

"Great place to vacation! Way up in the mountains provides sweeping views of the mountains. Loved sitting on the porch at sunset! House is well laid out and super spacious! They had everything we needed from comfortable furniture to kitchen amenities all there! The driveway is a bit difficult, I would suggest a 4WD. Overall, I can't wait to go back!

Perfect Views

"This property was absolutely beautiful. The mountains views are magnificent with big windows and the wrap around decks that help you enjoy the views the whole time. Black Mountain is a great town to walk around and shops and eat. Then it only takes 25 minutes or so to get to downtown Ashland. We hiked and zip lined and took a kayaking tour. We had an amazing time & the weather was perfect all weekend.
