"I cannot say enough good things about this property. Whenever we travel, we typically stay in vacation rental homes, this by far was the best one! The view was wonderful, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen fully stocked but what made this exceptional was the care the owners take to make sure the house is in great condition and really clean. No broken furniture, worn out chairs/couches, broken appliances, etc. The decorations and little touches around the house were such a nice surprise. The cabinets in the kitchen are labeled so you know where everything is and it was stocked with everything we needed and good quality stuff. The people who manage this house were also very responsive. We contacted someone about the water pressure really late one night and they called us back immediately. We have so many great memories from our visit. From morning coffee on the patio next to the firepit, to late night talks in the covered portion of the patio to bear sightings when we were travelling back and forth, we loved Sunset Sanctuary and Asheville!

An Amazing Rental Property

"A very spectacular property. Lovely views in a beautiful setting- both indoors and out. Perfectly designed and outfitted. Kitchen was so thoughtfully complete- everything anyone could ever need. Grandkids were thrilled with the large collection of NatGeoKids and the many games. Screened porch was fabulous. We used it every evening. Yonder was amazing- very receptive to any requests. They came immediately with flashlights and lanterns when we experienced an unfortunate power outage. Our only issue was with the spotty internet. Yonder tried to rectify, but unsuccessfully.

Spectacular Views

"Had a great time, we came with our families to a conference. The views are spectacular from most rooms. The kitchen is enormous, beautifully done and with all the equipment you'd ever need. Close to town though just far enough you'll think twice about going down the mountain for something quick. We loved our stay, hopefully we'll come back for the same conference next year.

"The views are better than advertised, with 2 levels of decks to enjoy the outdoors and sunsets. The home provided plenty of space for relaxing with family and friends, and the kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals. The primary bath was amazing, with a large walk-in shower and separate tub. The home provided a real sense of seclusion and privacy, while also being a short drive from everything Asheville has to offer.

"This mountain home is truly lovely. The views and outdoor space are fantastic. The home was very clean and well organized. Most of the bedrooms are on the second floor where the laundry room is, and that was very convenient. Beds are comfortable and linens are very nice. We loved the spacious master bed and bath and once again our views from this space were incredible. Kitchen is very well stocked and is truly lovely. We had a wonderful spring trip to Asheville and this home was perfect.

"Absolutely 100% exactly as the pictures depicted. My family and I were blown away by the view and the house was amazing. Amazing kitchen for cooking meals and the mattresses were wonderful. "Wow. This place was everything! The views were incredible and the space was luxurious, calming, beautifully decorated and clean! I loved that they provided every little thing from dish soap to coffee pods, so you wanted for nothing. We stocked up with groceries but didn’t have to worry about anything when it came to cooking or any of the basics. They even left us two bottles of wine! I coding recommend this place enough and it was incredible for our girls weekend trip! We even got to see four black bear cubs walk by the kitchen window one morning!

"Booked this beautiful house for a fun girls weekend to Asheville, not only was this in the perfect location to downtown, but the house was absolutely stunning! Everything is handled with such professionalism and is one of the better outfitted rentals we've stayed at. From the kitchen and supplies to each bedroom/bathroom being decorated beyond expectations, it made our stay relaxing, fun, and exactly what we were looking for. "Gorgeous home. Better better sunset views than the Grove Park Inn. Great for entertaining. Kitchen is missing nothing. Outside bbq grill and fire pit are top of the line. Inside fireplace creates a very warm and cozy environment. Master bath is out of a magazine with terrific views. Very quiet and private location. We’ve stayed at many vacation homes and this home ranks in the top few. We look forward to staying there again next year.

Serene escape

"From the minute we stepped into the Sunset Sanctuary, we were captivated by the amazing view. The home is located high up the mountain, providing a feeling of remoteness and serenity, but it is only about 10-12 minute drive to major stores such as Harris Teeter, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. The home is oriented around the view, with both an open and screened in terrace, and several large windows on both levels. The house is large, thoughtfully appointed, and can accommodate larger groups. We found the house to be exceptionally clean and the beds comfortable. We enjoyed taking walks on the mountain but for the most part we relaxed and took in the view. We hope we can return in the Fall because this home must be absolutely spectacular when the leaves change.

Peaceful, Elegant Family Retreat for Foodies and Nature Lovers

"TLDR: we can't wait to come back and hope to make this an annual retreat. We spent two restful nights at Sunset Sanctuary and only regret that we couldn't spend a third! We would love to book for a week and settle in with a slightly larger group; there was room to spare with two small families (three children total, all under 10). I would also love to bring my sisters or a group of girlfriends to this property to rest and recharge. For us, a good family vacation requires quality sleep, home-cooked dinners, a healthy dose of natural beauty, and a range of activities to satisfy introverted bookworms and outdoor sport lovers alike. Sunset Sanctuary delivers on all four counts. The chic-yet-comfortable interior design exceeded our expectations. Details below for those who appreciate a granular review. DESIGN: This property is not only functional but beautifully appointed. The Scandinavian design offers peaceful minimalism yet thankfully refuses to sacrifice comfort. Every seat harmonizes with the room's visual design, and is also meant for lingering. I always notice lighting, good or bad. The owners have put an enormous amount of consideration into lighting, from back-lit mirrors in the bathroom to a mixture of gorgeous overhead fixtures. SUNSETS: the view is jaw-dropping. We found ourselves deep in conversation while apologizing for looking straight forward! After sunset, we enjoyed the sounds of cicadas and the blinking fireflies until bed beckoned. (Side note–several in our party are typically hounded by mosquitos, so the screened in porch was delightful at dusk and after dark.) MATTRESSES: Comfortable, quality mattresses are our absolute must-have amenity. Nothing is worse than booking a vacation and not being able to sleep well due to a poor quality mattress. I prefer a firm mattress at home but honestly don't remember it being particularly firm (although it definitely wasn't overly soft). I just know I slept like a rock, and so did my kids. BEDDING: My 10 yr old and I have fairly acute fabric sensitivities, and found the bedding cool and comfortable. From the quality of the mattresses to the bedding, we were cocooned and comfortable and slept deeply. KITCHEN: excellent functionality and storage. People who like to cook will find everything they need, including blender, griddle, etc. No need to pack your good knives! The foodies know what I mean ;) I found myself snapping pics of useful kitchen gear for my own home. Whoever kitted out this kitchen knows what they're doing, and it made it feel like home from our first cup of coffee to our last glass of wine. KITCHEN STORAGE: if cooking isn't your thing, or you simply enjoy clear surfaces between meals, everything stores for a peaceful atmosphere. FLOW: effortless entertaining flow from the kitchen through the dining area and out to the screened in porch. ALLERGY-FRIENDLY: Several in our party have dust and pet allergies; we were grateful for allergy-friendly bedding and easy to clean floors and surfaces. THOUGHTFUL TOUCHES: alarm clocks with built in iphone charging capability, pull out basket drawers for onion and garlic storage, SONOS sound system for seamless music, outdoor-friendly acrylic wine glasses that were actually a pleasure to drink from (thin rims). They've thought of everything!
