Due to the downtown location, guests should expect some street noise, vehicle traffic, pedestrians, and occasional nearby construction
Parking: There is only street parking for this property. The Health and Human Services parking garage located on the block behind the building, and there are several municipal Parking Garages (Rankin, Civic Center, Aloft Hotel, Wall Street) located within a 1-3 block walk of the S&W building, at guest’s expense. The first hour of parking is free, $1.25 per hour thereafter, daily maximum parking $12.00. On street metered parking is FREE Saturday 6 PM-Monday 8 AM, and all city holidays.

"We had a great time on our girls trip (4 moms out and about). The location is in the heart of everything and the food hall downstairs is a fantastic spot for an easy bite. We parked in the nearby garage and I’d have loved a convenient drop-off spot for luggage, but it’s not a dealbreaker when you can walk to everything. Everything we needed to have a great stay!

"We really appreciated how well the listing reflected what we experienced during our stay! It was very spacious and felt homey at the same time. Really nice natural light bounced off of the balcony, and the building itself is quiet. We will 100% return! Info for guests, lively sounds from the street echoed up to the top floor bedroom, even with the windows closed, though the same sounds were much less noticeable in the main floor bedroom, because of the architecture of the building. I always travel with a small sound machine and earplugs (since you never know what to expect) and I definitely needed those for sleeping in the top floor room. But once pulled those out, I slept great! Both beds were super comfortable! We appreciated the allergy friendly laundry soap so we could do a load. The hosts were lovely and responsive to communication! They are very clear about what the unit does and doesn't provide, which we really appreciated too.

"Candidly, the pictures didn't do this place justice. A unique space, perfect for our weekend in Asheville. The patio was a great way to unwind at the end of the day with a beer and staring up at the night sky. The location was great assuming you want to experience the city, walkable, with vendors and bars right on the first floor too! We're planning on making this our regular location when visiting family in the area.

Great Downtown Location

"This is a great location to walk around downtown, close to shops, restaurants, and the arena if going to a concert. There is a food court on bottom floor with good choices and the condo has security codes that have to be entered to use elevator to condo so I felt very safe. Having 2.5 bathrooms and the large areas plus outside patio made it a great choice. I would point out that the bedroom upstairs does not have a door, the stairs end at opening to bedroom so you can hear anyone downstairs if they are staying up later. The fold out couch is in upstairs bedroom, the downstairs couch does not fold out. That is good to know if you have people that do not want to share a bed. I would stay here anytime I go to Asheville if I am with friends and we want more space than a hotel and ability to cook. I love the decor with the exposed brick.

We Had a Blast!

"We had a great time at this location! Parking was a bit of a challenge but once we figured that out, we had a blast! Checking in was simple, checking out was just as easy. The place was spacious, and super cute inside! The bigger bedroom is upstairs and is HUGE! So much space! It has its own full bathroom and the 2nd bedroom is downstairs and is a good size with its own full bathroom. There’s a 3rd half bathroom right off the main space as well. This is a great location and walking distance to a bunch of restaurants, shops, bars, breweries. Lots of fun things to do around! I would highly recommend it!!

"Wow! This unit is in a prime location! Literally you are right in the thick of the entire city. The downtown area was either a block or two to access restaurants, bakeries, breweries and music halls. From the start, the check in process was very easy and seamless. The stay was very pleasant, comfortable and even nicer than what the pictures show. The staff, attention to detail, and service professionals were very prompt to respond to all matters. Incredible opportunity for our family to reunite with friends in Asheville and I would definitely stay here again and again and again.

"Wow! After several visits to Asheville staying at B&B's and hotels it was time to try a Luxury Vacation Rental. After much research, I landed at Yonder and we were so thrilled with the outcome. Working with the friendly and helpful staff allowed us to pinpoint a terrific rental property right downtown as desired.. The 2 bedroom 2.5 bath apartment Southern Gem is exactly that; a Gem. The apartment itself was immaculate. Upscale furnishings, spacious and as well equipped as home. Comfortable beds with fresh pillows! Outdoor space for the unit was an excellent bonus. Location was as central as you can ask for, across from Tupelo Honey one of the most desired reservations in town. We have rented all over the world and I highly recommend using Yonder Mountain Luxury Rentals for all your Western North Carolina needs.

"My high school friends and I recently celebrated our 60th birthdays with a visit to Asheville. The Southern Gem Loft was truly a "southern gem." First, it is located in a historic building...located in the heart of the town. The place was jaw-dropping beautiful and we felt safe, given the numerous locks on the outside and inside doors, as well as the elevator. All in all...we couldn't have chosen a better spot to celebrate our Sensational Sixtieth!

"We stayed at the Southern Gem last weekend for a girls' weekend. There were 4 of us and this VRBO was the perfect choice. Beautifully decorated, spacious, and so very comfortable. Enjoyed listening to the street music at night and relaxing on the patio. Appreciated that the hosts provided coffee and creamers for us along with a very well-equipped kitchen - although we didn't need to use it a there were so many wonderful restaurants nearby. Girls Weekend

"We had five ladies staying in the condo for a long weekend and it was perfect! You are right in the Middle of the downtown area for great shopping and restaurants and we even walked to the River Arts area. The setup of the condo was fantastic- we loved exploring the city until mid afternoon and then coming back for wine and snacks on the awesome outdoor area. And The Biltmore is only a 15 minute drive. We dropped our bags off with one person at the front door and then the parking deck around back was easily accessible. The furnishings and quality are exactly as pictured. Wonderful trip

"Easy instructions and extremely secure property. Code to gain entry to building, elevator, and apartment. Very clean! Deck was amazing! Definitely coming back!!!

"Apartment is beautiful and just as pictured. Very spacious. Location is fantastic, walkable to many places. HHS parking lot is nice, close, well lighted, affordable. Lots of street parking on weekend.
