Perfect summer escape… home away from home!

"We loved this historic cottage nestled at the hub of the Montford neighborhood, close to Downtown, RAD, UNC the Greenway, grocery stores, the Mondfort Park Players. The house was on a lovely street with lots of friendly neighbors, dog walkers, joggers and families strolling about. The bedrooms were smallish, but sufficent. Centrally located kitchen was well appointed with everything we could imagine. Great Washer and Dryer. Terrific deep front porch. Well maintained. VERY responsive managment who addressed the smallest issues quickly and properly. Our only disappointment was that because of the historic nature of the house, the windows had been sealed over. The indoor environment was comfortable at all times, but we would have loved to have the early morning and evening breezes in this mountain climate. All in all, a GREAT SUMMER.

Delightful and charming

"We like it so much, my wife and I have rented this special house twice now. One of its best features is its long front porch, with areas of shade and sunshine that provide a place to sit almost any time of day. The hedge around the front yard provides privacy, making it a nice space for bunnies, fireflies, and the occasional passing bear. There is a back porch as well, with a large hammock. When we have visited, there are always flowers and shrubs in bloom. Inside, the furnishings have an esthetic flair and are extremely comfortable. This includes both beds. The house generally, and the kitchen in particular, are better equipped than any house I've ever rented; the owners have thoughtfully spared no expense. Montford Cottage probably dates to the early twentieth century, but it is perfectly maintained. But the best thing of all may be its location. Montford is Asheville's most charming neighborhood, and the Cottage is in a great part of Montford. It is two minutes from Montford Avenue and ten minutes from downtown, yet it is calm and quiet. It is just a few minutes' walk from beautiful Riverside Cemetery and from the Rec Center's great views and sunsets. You too will love this place.
