Maplewood Escape is a luxury vacation home in an upscale and private community just 8 miles away from downtown Asheville. It is a hidden gem that offers a peaceful and quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. This pet friendly property features a six-bedroom, six-bathroom deluxe private home with a Game Room, hot tub, fire pit, home theatre and an open living area. Surrounded by large oak trees, rhododendrons, and a literal forest, this vacation home offers space for relaxation and creating memories.

Home Features
When you enter the house, you'll find an open living and dining room with high ceilings, hardwood floors, a stone fireplace, and access to the main deck. The kitchen next to it is fully equipped for all your cooking and entertaining needs. The Maplewood Escape has different spaces to gather, in private or open areas and on multiple levels. You can gather with your family around the fireplace to create memories, cook together, or watch a movie in the lower-level Great Room with everyone.

On the main level, you'll find a spacious main suite with a king bed that offers forest views. The primary bathroom has a walk-in shower, a soaking tub, and a large walk-in closet. There are two guest suites on the lower level, each with a private bathroom. The lower level is also where you'll find the designated 'Game Room' and the Garage Game Room, perfect for children and adults. Both rooms have a pool table, ping-pong, air hockey, foosball, and a 60" TV on the wall. The covered terrace is accessible from this level and features a gas grill, outdoor fire pit, kids' playground/treehouse, and hot tub spa. Multiple seating areas and tables make this the ultimate entertaining space. Enjoy glass of wine with friends, relax in the spa, grill some filets, and dine outside while the sun sets.

"This is the second time we stayed at Maplewood! The first time was during hurricane Helen and the owners were so kind to us that we immediately booked the second trip during our daughter's graduation weekend. The house is lovely, well-stocked and immaculate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this beautiful retreat for large gatherings. You won't be disappointed!

Fabulous family visit!

"This house is everything as shown and more. It had everything that you would need for the whole visit. We had a family gathering coming from 4 states that could not have been better! The three levels of living was a bonus! The back yard was so much fun, our grandkids (and adults) love all of the activities that were outside. The hot tub was wonderful and the theater room was a huge hit. After a day of exploring Asheville it was great to come back to the house. The hosts were great, always a prompt response with any questions. We will definitely one back to Maplewood!

"Wonderful layout where the bedrooms were spread out and fun games. Our three adult kids (in their 20s) loved hanging out downstairs and playing pool together. Most Hospitable Host

"My extended family stayed here during a family weekend for my daughter's school. The day of our arrival, Hurricane Helene struck and devastated the area. We could not make it to the property, but my sister and her family traveling from north made it. The host, the neighbors and everyone in the community were so kind and gracious to her. We had no way of communicating due to lack of cell service and Internet. The house has a generator and the host and her in-laws visited my sister and brought food for her. When we finally made it to the property the next day, the area was under shortage of gas, water and food. The host again brought us food and was so kind and generous with us. This is an amazingly beautiful and well-kept gem. We hope to come back again when there is water and electricity and get to enjoy this beautiful house! Thank you!!

Asheville Experience

"This home worked out great for our needs. There were 10 of us traveling and we were very pleased with the layout of this property. We love when we can get one bathroom for each couple. The dining room table is very sturdy, but needs a little "TLC". It has a slight wobble that can easily be remedied. It was convenient to getting around Asheville and tour the Biltmore. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for a three generation family reunion

"This large and thoughtfully equipped house was perfect for our three generation family reunion. Although it seems far from Asheville when you first approach, it is easy to get into town, as well as to the highways. A well stocked grocery store and a nice community pool are just 3 miles away.

Comfortable and Lots to Do

"We enjoyed our stay very much. When we arrived we found a nice thank you card, several bags of popcorn, two bottles of wine, and a huge charcuterie platter had been gifted to us to enjoy which was unexpected and very gracious. The house was beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. We spent a lot of time downstairs in the theater room and the billiards room. The kids loved the backyard as well. The location was perfect. Everywhere we wanted to go was no more than 30 minutes in any direction. The neighborhood was beautiful and very quiet. Highly recommend this property.

Family Spring Break Getaway

"I would like to start off by saying we really appreciated the welcome gift when we arrived at the house. My husband and I enjoyed the wine and the kids loved the snacks. As for our stay, the house was very clean and fully equipped with everything you would need in the kitchen. The decor was nice and the beds were really comfortable. The backyard was a huge hit for the kids with the fort, tree swing and especially the zipline. Just about every night we used the movie theater and we were able to get in a few nights of roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. We also loved how convenient it was to gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and the Biltmore Estate. There is also a handbook that provides you with all the information you need on the house and surrounding area. The only incident we had was the broken fridge we discovered on our first night after getting groceries. The host was very responsive and was able to get someone out to the house fairly quickly. Unfortunately it was determined the fridge needed to be replaced. However, they were able to get a new fridge the very next morning. Any food we loss they took care of it. Overall I highly recommend the Maplewood Escape property and would definitely come back.

"This house was amazing and awesome. The children had the best time watching movies in the theatre room. They enjoyed the treehouse and the zip line. The host left a welcome gift which was wonderful. "We had such a great stay at this beautiful property! Our group of 9 had so much space and really enjoyed all the amenities. We did not have a coffee pot at the home and they had one delivered for us in under an hour! We all had late flights so the host graciously allowed for a late check out. Clean, Warm, Cozy

There were a few issues when I arrived, such as a broken light fixture that was in the sink, and I was able to call and get maintenance to come out the next day to take care of the issue. "Spacious house located in a great neighborhood. This house is about 20 minutes from downtown Asheville after driving through some backroads. The house was great, especially for kids as they have a tree house and some playground equipment in the backyard, including a small zip line, which was really cool. House was clean and the movie theatre room was incredible. Overall a great place to stay!

"The property was everything I hoped it would be, the house was spacious, with enough room for extended family, and enough space for everyone to have a little time to themselves. Loved sitting on the deck, with the trees around you felt like you were in a forest. We even saw a wild turkey running through the neighbor's yard while we were sitting outside one evening. The grocery stores in Asheville were only about 15-20 minutes away. If we were planning another get together with family, this is the perfect spot.

Very Comfortable & Spacious

"The house is great, very comfortable and located in a well-kept, mountain neighborhood of custom homes. We had 13 adults and there was plenty of room to gather…and plenty of space to retreat for R&R. The theater room was awesome! We had a great time watching football and lounging in comfortable recliners. The only downside was that we only had it for a couple of days, would love to come back for an extended stay to hike the trails and waterfalls around the parkway! Definitely recommend this house for family gatherings!

"This family reunion was the first time we could all get together in a couple of years. We came from 3 different areas and age range was 4 to 76 years old. We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate family. From our "welcome" surprise, to the play area for the kiddos, to the movie theatre, fully functional kitchen, space to be together but also apart :) Ashville area had lots of fun stuff to do. All the family gave it a "5" star rating.

Perfect for Large Groups

"This was the perfect fit for my large group of 16 people! We were heading to Asheville for my Bachelor party, and this ended up being the right place for us to stay. Very spacious, plenty of beds for everyone, fun times in the hot tub / game room / movie room, and got to make a nice fire with the provided wood. We also had no major issues getting Ubers to and from the home to go out to the breweries. Highly recommend staying here for your large group events in Asheville!

So Many Activities!

"We had 14 people and two large dogs. This location was so roomy and had private spaces for all. So many activities for all to enjoy. The outside activities were a plus. Fire pit, zip line, swings. A cabin like playhouses, spa and much more. Would definitely return.

Perfect for Us!

"The house was perfect for our group of 10 people. There was an awesome theater room where we ended our nights with a movie some nights and other times we made a fire in the fire pit in the yard! The house was clean upon checkin and we were allowed early check in. They were so sweet!! We were left a charcuterie board that was huge! 2 bottles of wine and some Asheville popcorn !! It was awesome! Our only 4 star part was that it was too far for an Uber to pick us up. Luckily there is an app called AVL ride we were able to schedule each day . We needed a big bus so it was $150 one way. Getting UBers back was easy. This was our annual brewery tour so we needed a driver. We would definitely stay again next year though. So we will see! Beautiful house, plenty of bedrooms.

Could Not Have Asked for a More Spectacular House!

"We chose this property primarily for the location....2 miles from the wedding venue where our second oldest son was getting married! Little did we know it was not just the proximity of this beautiful home to the wedding venue that caught our eye, but it was actually somewhere that provided the calm and relaxation we needed before and after the wedding. Weddings are amazing, but with them comes a little bit of stress! This home was immaculate in its cleanliness, plenty of space for everyone, and convenient to even the rehearsal venue which was in downtown Asheville. I would absolutely recommend this home when staying in Asheville!!

Multigenerational Family Accomodations

"What a great house! Room for everyone (15 of us!) Grandparents, parents and siblings of the groom stayed for a weekend wedding. There were things to do at the house in between events, and bathrooms and bedrooms for everyone to prep for the big day. The house was a quick drive (20 minutes) from everything- downtown, airport, wedding venue etc. We would definitely they recommend to any large group.

"What a perfect Thanksgiving stay! Plenty of room for our families! We stayed four nights, hosting both sides of our family, so being able to wash sheets between visits was super helpful. Great size kitchen. The best part was all the toys: the pool table, movie room and hot tub were awesome, but the outdoor extras were the icing on top: a zip line?! Really?! Even Nana gave the zipline a go! We had s'mores by the fire pit almost every night! So much room!! Our (adult) sons wanted to stay in the tree house! And the rental hosts went the extra mile with the charcuterie, popcorn and wines!! Wow!!! This trip was worth every penny!

"We were able to take advantage of all that the house had to offer. Kitchen was well outfitted with everything we needed. The host provided goodies upon our arrival- very generous. "This home is amazing. They have thought of every detail. They even had kids cups and plates and a pack n play. There are so many beds and it can accommodate a very large group more than comfortably. The mattresses and pillows were really comfortable. The house is filled with books for everyone and toys and games for the kids. The backyard is like a park. Honestly there won’t even be need to leave once you get there. The neighbors are friendly. The road is quiet and beautiful and the house is spotless and has anything you need. The ONLY thing I needed that wasn’t there was conditioner. I HIGHLY recommend this home.

Beautiful House

"We stayed in this beautiful house for the team building event at our company. Great place to spend a weekend with a big company! Everything is very clean, fully equipped rooms and kitchen. Only 15 min from downtown of Asheville. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommended.

Excellent Place for our Family Reunion

"Maplewood Escapes provided an excellent place for our family reunion of three generations. There was something for all ages to do in the house. Listing was accurate, roomy, clean, and in a safe, private neighborhood. Yonder was easy to communicate with before and during our stay.

Gorgeous house – Highly recommend for weekend business retreat

"Maplewood Escape I rented this beautiful house for a work retreat and it was spectacular! There was plenty of room and the experience was wonderful. The owners had a superb Charcuterie tray waiting our arrival and also a fire burning outside in the fire pit with plenty of extra wood. There was nothing this house did not have for a relaxing weekend retreat. Plenty of entertainment with pool table, movie theatre, hot tub and even an obstacle course in the back yard with a zip line! We will definitely make this an annual event as this house was perfect for a work retreat while team building!

Maplewood Escape is the best “Escape”

"We chose Maplewood Escape for a Girls Weekend. The owners, Josh and Liza, could not have been more accommodating and gracious. This is a beautiful, spacious home with a well stocked kitchen. Each of us had our own bedroom and bath and all bedrooms have TVs. The firepit Saturday afternoon was great and the hot tub after was amazing. They have a great billiards room and home theater. Maplewood Escape was perfect for us and we will definitely be back!

"Outstanding house, grounds and amenities in first class neighborhood out in the countryside, but just 12 minutes from Asheville city center. The owners left us welcome aboard package of goodies that was very thoughtful, ensured we had all the kitchenware we needed to cook a wonderful Thanksgiving meal for nine, and were committed to ensuring we had everything we needed. I honestly can’t think of anything they could improve upon.
