Special Update – Lake Lure Reopening
Lake Lure is officially open following Hurricane Helene, and normal lake use has resumed! Previous lakewide no-wake restrictions have been lifted, so guests can once again enjoy boating and time on the water while continuing to follow all posted no-wake zones, boating guidelines, and local lake rules.

Chimney Rock businesses are also open and ready to welcome visitors back. This is a wonderful time to return to the area, enjoy the lake, explore Chimney Rock, and support the local businesses and communities that make this region so special. Please note that public docks remain closed at this time. Guests who would like to get out on the water can rent boats through Yonder, with delivery available for lakefront homes or pickup available at the southernmost point of the lake.

Welcome to M & M Rockhouse in Lake Lure! This charming lake home has direct lake access and spectacular views from the boat house deck. You'll want to spend every moment you have outside, taking in all the lake has to offer! You’ll feel removed from everything in this peaceful space, but yet you are close to the grocery store and restaurants.

Upon entering the cozy lake cottage, you are greeted with an open kitchen, dining and family room. Perfect for hanging out after a day on the water. The home has a fully equipped kitchen, lower level family room, 4 guest rooms and beautifully appointed bathrooms. Step out onto the deck or patio, where you can enjoy your morning coffee while viewing the lake. Cable tv and internet are provided for those rainy days or just relaxing after a day of lake life.
Take a walk down to the beautifully constructed stone boat house. Relax out on the deck or enjoy your private sandy area between the boat houses. This is the perfect space to play with children or dogs in the 2 ½ to 3 feet of water.

Amazing Stay!

"We had an amazing stay at M&M Rockhouse! The views from the home were spectacular and the private dock/swimming area was perfect for our toddlers. The neighborhood was quiet and an easy drive into the downtown as well as to the grocery store. The house does feel like it could be better maintained/felt older inside than expected, and the dock could use an update. I wouldn’t classify the home as “luxury” other than the views and lake access. With that said, we did have a great time and would consider booking again in the future.

"My family and I visited Lake Lure to celebrate Father's Day 2026. My husband was absolutely delighted. In his opinion, this was the best lakeside rental we’ve ever had—and we’ve certainly rented quite a few. He accomplished his goal: fishing. He caught plenty of fish, but the one that really made him happy was a bass; in fact, it was the biggest one he’s ever caught, weighing in at 8 pounds.As for the house, it is very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing any kind of meal, and the outdoor grill was wonderful. The house was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The best part is the view of the lake and mountains. You can tell the owners have put a lot of care into every detail; there is a beautiful designated area for swimming with a nice access, where even small children can swim safely. I truly enjoyed being there. And there are plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the scenery. My husband and I enjoyed the view while having our morning coffee; we even had a visit from a hummingbird. The sunsets were also beautiful and majestic.The team managing the property and providing support—Yonder—was extraordinary. They were very kind and attentive; whenever a question came up, they responded immediately. A huge thank you to the Yonder team for their hospitality. While being there, we visited Lake Lure Beach, El Lago Mexican Restaurant, Lake House Bar and Grill, and The 828 Restaurant; all were good. It was a great vacation. Definitely 5 stars.

"Had a great birthday on the lake! The house was perfect for a small group of family/friends. We enjoyed jumping off the dock house, and watching the weather on the large back porch. Also the bar/restaurant Canoe Kitchen was a really awesome spot that is basically walking distance from this house. We can’t wait to come back.

"We enjoyed our time on beautiful Lake Lure relaxing, playing games and just enjoying quality time with family over Thanksgiving. The only thing to note is the main level master has a double bed and the queen is downstairs, so that affected our sleeping arrangements, as my elderly parents aren’t able to go down stairs. With that said, we adjusted and ended up using the pullout couch downstairs. On Thanksgiving day, linens were brought to the home for our use, so we appreciated that prompt response! Our fur babies were also allowed to join us, so that made the trip even better. We were extremely diligent about picking up their waste; however, we did see other dogs walking around the property so we wanted to make sure we weren’t charged (as if it were our babies’ messes). Again, we had a great time, watched a lot of football and played a new fun games as a family! It was very cold so we didn’t make it out to the fire pit as we had hoped. We will have to come back to try it out!

Peaceful and Relaxing

"We loved this location. The house and docks are situated to provide plenty of privacy though neighbors are just a short distance away. Fabulous views from the house. As pictures show the house is located above the lake and docks. There are actually more steps than can be seen in the pictures and they are steep. The house stairs are also quite steep. If you are traveling with elderly, or with persons with diminished physical capabilities this may not be the best option for you. However, access from the parking area to the main floor of the house is quite easy to navigate. If someone in your group has mobility issues and has no desire to walk down to the water they still have a great view of the activity on the dock from the main level deck. From what I could see, one would be hard pressed to find lodging without a significant number of steps. After all you are in the mountains and this is to be expected. The showers are walk in as well. The home is older and the furnishings adequate. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The only thing I was not able to locate were extra blankets. I may have overlooked them and I did not bother to inquire if there were any. These would have been nice to have while watching TV or sitting on the deck on cool nights. Two paddle boards are available for guest use and we did use. The lake was calm and we felt perfectly safe using them. I have been on more crowed lakes where you feel like you’re a boaters target. The location was great.

"The house was clean and well maintained and had pretty much everything we needed. Would definitely stay again. Just an FYI on the area, TONS of winding and narrow roads so if you have an option to bring a smaller car/SUV you may want to do so. We drove a full-sized pick-up so some of the roads were a little dicey although we did them all without incident.

Family Fun

"This property is in a great part of Lake Lure, easy to get to, plenty of parking & the outside of the house is fun even though it has spider webs every where. We rented a pontoon so it was nice to be able to have it docked at the property. The house should have a king & queen beds, but instead it has two full size beds and two twins. Not for those challenged by stairs! Nothing to write home about inside. Surprised they had some stainless steel pans. Not well maintained but happy to have been able to have our pups. My main complaint was that we were being watched through their camera's, as soon as I turned off the WIFI the property management showed up to ask why we shut it off. Not cool!!!! We paid a lot of money to stay for 5 night's we should have privacy at the very least. Over all however our family had a great time as we all do when we are together. Won't rent again.

Wonderful Stay

"M&M Rockhouse was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. We loved the location, the views of the lake, and the outdoor space to sit out and relax. From the covered porch to the boat dock, every evening was spent taking in the sunsets. The house was a quick drive to the grocery store, The Town of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock State Park. The house was absolutely immaculate when we arrived. Yonder also accommodated us arriving a bit early, which we were very thankful. We would definitely stay here again!

"M&M Rockhouse was the perfect lake house right on the water with views from every corner of the home. From the moment I arrived I discovered a clean & cozy home ready to relax and play in the waters of Lake Lure. We had some issues with the well water but Yonder immediately had several people to fix the problems quickly. This was one of my favorite vacation homes and I hope to come back to this beautiful lake house.

It’s all about the lake

"The outdoor space for this house is 5 stars. The swimming space between the boat house and lift was great for our young kids and dog. No neighbors in sight expect for across the lake. The house is 10 mins away from food and groceries yet feels very secluded and away from the masses. We only had one issue with the grill that was taken care of same day.

Great Lake spot!

"Great location and beautiful spot on the lake. Parking fits 3 cars which was great. Lots of stairs down to the lake which wasn’t a problem just thought I would mention it. Great spot for pups or kids because they can walk right into the lake and be able to touch in the sandy area. Beds seem more like 2 doubles and 2 twins but we’re still nice spaces. The sofa bed was very old and mattress looked very dingy and definitely should not be counted as a place to sleep. But I give it 5 stars because the house had many amenities and provided a lot of useful items such as in the kitchen, outside entertaining areas were amazing, and location was perfect. We loved our stay!
