Special Update – Lake Lure Reopening
Exciting news for Lake Lure guests: Lake Lure is officially open following Hurricane Helene, and normal lake use has resumed! Previous lakewide no-wake restrictions have been lifted, so guests can once again enjoy boating and time on the water while continuing to follow all posted no-wake zones, boating guidelines, and local lake rules.

Chimney Rock businesses are also open and ready to welcome visitors back. This is a wonderful time to return to the area, enjoy the lake, explore Chimney Rock, and support the local businesses and communities that make this region so special. Please note that public docks remain closed at this time. Guests who would like to get out on the water can rent boats through Yonder, with delivery available for lakefront homes or pickup available at the southernmost point of the lake.

As you arrive to this charming lake house, Hickory Hideaway, you will immediately notice the view of Lake Lure and quickly begin to unwind! Lake Lure is special and the views from this house are exceptional. Upon entering the house, you will be taken away by the high-pitched ceilings and exposed beams. To your left is the newly renovated half bath and fully equipped kitchen to gather and prepare your meals. The dining room table seats six comfortably and looks out over the lake as does the living room. The living room is very cozy with its gas fireplace and flat-screen TV.

Take the stairs up to the open loft with its queen-sized bed and fabulous view of the lake. There are two bedrooms on the terrace level, including a master suite with a queen bed and private bathroom. The second bedroom has one twin bed and a double bed.  You may access a small deck from each of these rooms with beautiful lake views. Outside the two bedrooms is a remodeled bathroom and the house is equipped with a washer & dryer.

Location Private family home, 2 miles from the quaint town of Chimney Rock and an easy drive to Lake Lure town and beach area.  Visit the spectacular Biltmore Estate or take a country drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Eat and drink your way through the stunning wineries and breweries that the area has to offer. For the more adventurous head out to do some rock climbing, white water rafting, zip lining or horse back riding. The options are endless! Look our for some of the many festivals that the area has to offer, including our own Lake Lure Dirty Dancing festival that is held every September.  Asheville, Hendersonville, Black Mountain, Flat Rock and Mars Hill area all within a short drive for fun family day trips.

The Views Are Beautiful

"We stayed at Hickory Hideaway for a relaxing weekend. The views are beautiful! The house was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed preparing our meals on the gas grills and we took one of the kayaks out for a spin. The weather was cool during the night/morning but perfect during the day. We did have an issue but the hosts were helpful and compensated us sufficiently. We enjoyed it so much, it was sad to leave!

"Beautiful house and amazing view of lake and Chimney Rock mountain. We made so many memories swimming, kayaking and hanging out on the deck every night. We celebrated our youngest son’s birthday too and he even caught a bass! Some of our favorites were Burntshirt Bistro in downtown Chimney Rock (great food + wine!), the Lake Lure beach, and horseback riding at Cedar Creek Stables.

"Our family of 4 greatly enjoyed the quiet serenity that Hickory Hideaway provided. It is a 8-10 minute drive into the village of Lake Lure and an equal distance to the entrance of Chimney Rock State Park. We used the kayaks that were provided to go into town and enjoy the lake. The waterfront deck is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or evening drink (or vice versa, no judgement here).

"What a cool house and great location! There is ample parking which is tough to find in lake houses these days. Also, a well stocked kitchen and the lake access is perfect. "First and foremost thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! I definitely want to come back! I don't recommend this house for any elderly people who don't do well with stairs though. The bedrooms are on the bottom level as well and the shower/ bath. It's a 3 story home. But with that being said it's absolutely amazing and we had a great time. Highly recommended!

"Accommodations were just as advertised but the views and location exceeded expectations! We took advantage of the pontoon boat rental that was located at the property and highly recommend. Eric, the "Boat Master" is awesome!! He was very knowledgeable and super helpful. We also enjoyed the canoe and kayaks and the gorgeous views from the large deck. The home was cozy, beautifully upgraded and just overall great for relaxing and experiencing what Lake Lure has to offer! We will definitely be back!

"We rented this home for the 4th of July week and we couldn't ask for more. The communication was outstanding from the beginning. The check in/check out process was very easy and convenient. This is by far the cleanest house we have rented in the last few years. The property was very comfortable and had all the basic items that we needed for the week. The wifi was reliable and we were able to stream movies. The home is located in a great area by the water. We definitely wanted to stay longer.
