"Emerald Bear was just perfect for my group. We had our kids and their kids so three generations. Theres’s a beautiful deck on the first level that didn’t appear in the pictures and had several heavy duty Wicker chairs, rockers and a couch. Delightful to sit out in that area in the morning. We were involved in many activities around the area so didn’t get to sit and enjoy as much as we would had liked to, The AC stopped cooling, but I reported it and it was fixed on the next afternoon. All the comforts of home and completely decorated for the Fourth of July. Would definitely like to rent again.

"Our rental house, Emerald Bear, was fantastic and Yonder Luxuary Vacation Rental group was amazing to work with! I will seek out their properties from now on. The house was set up high on the hill and offered beautiful views and spectacular sunsets! The hot tub was immaculate and was much appreciated after a day on the slopes. I have never had a rental home with a better equipped kitchen! We only went out one meal and cooked the rest. We will return next year!

"Absolutely perfect! This cozy cabin was the serene escape we needed. Waking up to the sound of birds and the view was magical. "Had a great stay at the house for the second time and is very convenient location for those coming into town to ski. The PM is very proactive and helpful and was quick to respond to any of our questions. They also allowed us to check in early due to the snow storm that was coming which was a huge help to our group. "Emerald Bear is by far the best cabin experience our family has had. We have been traveling from Florida for five summers to Maggie Valley and it is always so wonderful being at the cabin- it truly is a home away from home. In addition, it is so centrally located to so many activities. Asheville is a short drive, Cherokee, Great Smokey Mountains and other great locations to see waterfalls, go hiking, tubing or white water rafting are less than 45 minutes from the cabin. We love the size of Emerald Bear. We travel with two other families and there is even room for our children to bring a friend. The patios are spectacular and we love the selection of games indoor and outdoor. Thank you to the owners of Emerald Bear for thinking of every detail to make our stay so enjoyable! We can’t wait for our next trip to continue making family memories!

What A Delight

"What a delight! There are two pieces to travel, in my opinion: The accommodations & the company that manages these accommodations. I booked through Marriott Homes and Vacations, so had a given set of expectations. I had no previous experience with Yonder, however, or with renting vacation homes. The entire experience was flawless. Yonder was always available, helpful, informative, and did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. they are personable and welcoming. Can't ask for anything more. The "Cabin" sleeps 13 and was more than accommodating for our party of 8 people and one 4-legged family member! The cabin was clean, well maintained, and move in ready. The linens were also clean and fresh, as were the kitchen, dishes, pots and pans, and bathrooms. The location was amazing, literally a 15-minute ride to the ski slopes, with beautiful sunsets and abundant nature. Our family will not hesitate to book our travel with Yonder again and look forward to our next vacation experience with Yonder.

"This was our 3rd year staying at the Emerald Bear! We absolutely love it there! It’s so spacious, comfortable, super clean and fully equipped! We had 4 adults and 6 teenagers and it still felt like we had tons of extra space! Every morning we had our coffee in the rockers/chairs on the top patio and every evening was spent on the downstairs patio by the fire pit playing cornhole and in the hot tub! The bottom floor is a big hit with the kids! It’s loaded with board games, ping pong table, Xbox, tv and a large couch that seats 9! You also can’t beat the location! We love to hang at the cozy cabin, but we are also a very active group so it’s perfect for both! It’s close to waterfalls, tubing, hiking, whitewater rafting, breweries and restaurants! After 3 years and so many wonderful memories made, it’s now become our family tradition to stay at the Emerald Bear! We can’t wait to be back next summer!

Best cabin ever!

"Emerald Bear is truly a home away from home! We travel here yearly with two other families and there is plenty of room in the cabin for all 13 of us. There are fun activities at the cabin like corn hole, games and movie night on the comfy couch downstairs. The location is perfect! Ever year we choose a new river to go white water rafting. There are so many great breweries close by as well as plentiful hiking opportunities to see waterfalls and breath taking video. I can’t say enough positive things about this cabin! We love it!

"This house is beautiful and well suited for larger groups. We met friends here and there was more than enough room for 4 adults and 4 children. Both adults and kids had a great time on the porches and in the hot tub. Tub World was just down the street and lots of fun. Waynesville is a close drive and worth a visit. We hope to be back!

More Than Accommodating

"We had 12 guests and Emerald Bear was more than accommodating. The rental team made sure that we had plenty of firewood which has been an issue with previous places I’ve stayed. The beds were comfortable and clean, the stone floors made for an ease of cleanup, especially with pets. We brought our two labs and they had a blast.

Amazing Last-Minute Trip

"After having a different vacation home get cancelled a week before our trip, we found this place last minute. We had a group of 10 people and our 2 dogs and could not have had a more perfect mountain getaway. The house was so cozy and homey, yet had so many private areas to get away to. Our group only left the house once to check out a local brewery by the water (a short 3 minute drive and it was awesome), because there was so much to do at the house. We went on a short hike, hung out by the fire pits, relaxed in the hot tub, played board games by the fire, and had big meals together every night. The house was deep enough into the mountain that it felt private, yet close enough to the main highway that it was easy to get to. The view was incredible from every room and porch. Communication was quick and easy with the hosts as well. Could not have asked for a better house and weekend!

Winter Weekend with Friends

"We had a great stay at The Emerald Bear last weekend! 3 families with kids and the cabin was a perfect fit for all of us, plenty of space and beds for everyone. Downstairs has plenty of activities for kids, but they stayed in the hot tub the entire time. The adults were able to hang around the fire pit on the deck and in the spacious kitchen. We spent our time sightseeing in Maggie Valley and skiing at Cataloochee. We are already planning our next trip back to Emerald Bear.

"Our group of three families stayed at Emerald Bear for a ski weekend trip and we couldn't have been more pleased. From the ease of booking to the responsiveness of the Yonder team down to the actual house, we were pleasantly surprised. We usually go into a rental house expecting to be disappointed, but with each turn, we were pleasantly surprised! The house was clean, well-equipped, spacious enough for 11 people and comfortable. The hot tub was immaculate, plenty of towels for everyone. The bedrooms were clean with ample sheets, pillows, etc. The kitchen was decent, not gourmet, but it worked for our purposes. We all loved the setting and enjoyed both the propane fire pit as well as the wood fire pit. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are expecting to return next year for another ski weekend trip!

Amazing Location, Beautiful Views

"We spent a long weekend with a group of our employees, 12 of us in total, to celebrate an outstanding year for our business. We were stunned at the beauty of the property. The home is immaculate, spacious and has just the right amount of amenities for a large, diverse group. The grounds were well kept. We loved seeing the elk in the early morning hours and two kitties at night. Even when it rained an entire day of our visit, we were able to find things to entertain ourselves with, whether ping pong downstairs, corn hole under the balcony, or playing card games around the dining room table. All of our guests were comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We highly recommend this property for a large group. "Emerald Bear was a great spot for our family to gather and celebrate. The lower level was a great option for the couple with a child. And the upper level had the same amount of privacy. There were still two bed rooms on the main level. The drive up was intimidating the first go, but we were comfortable after we did it once and didn’t have problems. Would definitely stay again!

"This is a great place for a larger family gathering or a group of friends! "Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to other people. It is a very convenient location if you want to ski or go back to Maggie Valley for dinner. The hot tub was a great bonus and we got a lot of use out of that. Yonder was accommodating and allowed us to alter our check in/check out times a little which is always appreciated. My only complaints are that the Wifi was really bad which normally would not be a big deal but just made watching Christmas movies and things like that impossible. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.

Great Mountain Getaway

"We really enjoyed the house and location. Very central to doing activities from Asheville to Smoky Mountain NP including Bryson City and Cherokee. Home was cozy and well stocked with great amenities. Tip for non-SUV drivers- down shift to 2nd gear before heading up the gravel drive. It helped a lot. Highly recommend staying at Emerald Bear!

Relaxing and Beautiful Vacation Spot

"To say this cabin is a home away from home is an understatement. Our stay was nothing short of beautiful and relaxing. The view from the porch in the morning with a nice cup of coffee in the rocking chairs are a priceless memory. We had plenty of space to cook and enjoy our down time along with plenty of recommendations for experiences and local places to eat. Enjoy a night under the stars in the hot tub (my personal favorite relaxing moments during our stay). We had everything we needed and more. Without a doubt we will be back very soon.

A little slice of heaven!

"We had an amazing stay at The Emerald Bear with our friends this summer! This cabin is perfect for multiple families and exceeded our expectations! We had 5 adults and 7 children and still had tons of space! It was extremely clean, kitchen was well equipped and the beds were super comfy! It also had loads of amenities like ping pong table, hot tub, corn hole, ring toss, and many family board games - which we loved playing on the upper deck! There’s a fireplace inside and 2 fire pits outside, which we used every night and a grill with a huge wrap around deck and a breathtaking view! We were easily tempted to hang out and relax most days because the property is secluded and gorgeous, but the location made it ideal to also get out and be adventurous! I drove my husband and son to Smoky Mountain National Park for a 3-day backpacking adventure, while the rest of us took advantage of rafting on the Pigeon River, Soco Falls, Bust Your Butt Falls and tubing in the Smoky Mountains. We also went Asheville to check out the local breweries and restaurants and do some shopping. This house has everything you could ask for and more! It was enjoyed by all and we are already looking forward to our next stay!

"This cabin is fantastic. Great location, close to everything, but also on top of the mountain, giving you privacy. Everything is brand new, so many amenities! We had an amazing time during our stay. And the view... priceless!

The Emerald Bear was absolute perfection!

"The Emerald Bear exceeded all expectations for a mountain vacation experience. Our group included three families for a week stay. Each family had their own floor with their own private bathroom and shower in the cabin. Our group included seven children ranging in ages from 7-16 years old. There were plenty of board games, video games as well as corn hole, ping pong and a cool ring toss game. The large table on the main deck made a fun spot for family Scrabble games as well as outdoor family meals. The gas grill is new and we loved cooking and hanging outside every evening after a day of tubing, rafting or exploring. Our group absolutely loved every inch of this cabin! So much space for all of us and so many memories were made in the Emerald Bear. The two king bedrooms were a bonus and every bed was so comfortable and truly felt like home. We loved the fully equipped kitchen and the choice of indoor fire or two outdoor fire pits as well as the amazing hot tub on cool summer evenings! Emerald Bear is a gem and we can’t wait to come back!
