The PGA TOUR is returning to Asheville in 2027! Following a memorable inaugural Biltmore Championship Asheville in September 2026, the tournament will return to The Cliffs at Walnut Cove September 30 – October 3, 2027.
Having attended the inaugural championship this past September, we can tell you that this is exciting news for Asheville, Western North Carolina, and anyone who appreciates professional golf played against one of the most beautiful backdrops imaginable.
As a company who has called these mountains home for many years, we’ve always appreciated what makes this region special. But watching PGA TOUR professionals compete on a spectacular golf course surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains provided an entirely new perspective.
And while the golf itself was impressive, what stayed with us most was everything happening around it.
A Beautiful Day for Championship Golf

We attended the tournament on Friday, September 18, at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, just south of Asheville.
The weather was beautiful, the course looked spectacular, and the surrounding mountains provided a setting that few professional sporting events can match.
For those who haven’t experienced PGA TOUR golf in person, there’s something remarkable about being so close to players competing at this level.
Watching them prepare for each shot, assess the course, and execute with extraordinary precision gives you an entirely different appreciation for the game. Every movement seems deliberate, every decision calculated.
It’s one thing to watch professional golf on television. It’s another to stand just a few yards away and experience the concentration, skill, and athleticism firsthand.

A Thousand Volunteers and a Community That Delivered
One of the things that impressed us most wasn’t necessarily happening on the golf course.
It was the people.
Approximately 1,000 volunteers helped make the inaugural Biltmore Championship Asheville possible, and their contributions were evident throughout the day.
From helping spectators navigate the grounds to answering questions and ensuring everything ran smoothly, these volunteers represented the very best of Western North Carolina hospitality
The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, with families, golf enthusiasts, and visitors enjoying a beautiful day outdoors.
The professionalism of the volunteers, law enforcement, security personnel, and event staff was equally impressive.

When you consider the infrastructure, transportation, logistics, course preparation, and countless details involved in hosting a PGA TOUR event, the scale of the undertaking becomes even more remarkable.
It’s easy to focus on the golfers. But an event of this magnitude requires an extraordinary team working behind the scenes.
And from what we experienced, Asheville delivered.
More Than Golf: Bringing People Together

Another highlight of the day was seeing familiar faces throughout the tournament.
We had opportunities to connect with friends, community partners, and even guests who were enjoying the championship.
For us, that was a reminder of something we’ve always appreciated about Asheville. Even as our region grows and attracts visitors from around the world, there’s still a strong sense of community and connection.
The Biltmore Championship brought together people who share an appreciation for golf, the outdoors, and this remarkable corner of North Carolina.
Events like this create experiences that extend well beyond the competition itself.
A Championship That Showcases Western North Carolina

Asheville has long been recognized for its outdoor adventures, exceptional restaurants, craft breweries, arts, and the iconic Biltmore Estate.
Now, the Biltmore Championship Asheville gives visitors another compelling reason to discover our region.
And the timing couldn’t be better.
Late September and early October are particularly beautiful in Western North Carolina, as cooler temperatures arrive and the first hints of autumn begin appearing across the mountains.
For visitors traveling to the championship, there’s an entire destination waiting to be explored beyond the golf course.
From memorable dining experiences to scenic drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking trails, historic attractions, and charming mountain towns, a trip to the Biltmore Championship can easily become an unforgettable mountain vacation.
Thank You to Everyone Who Made It Possible
A sincere thank-you to the PGA TOUR, Explore Asheville, Biltmore, The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, the tournament sponsors, and the many organizations and individuals who helped bring this championship to our region.
Special recognition also goes to the groundskeepers, volunteers, law enforcement, hospitality teams, and countless others whose work made the inaugural event such a success.
Hosting a professional golf tournament of this caliber is no small accomplishment.
Seeing it come together in our own backyard was something special.
