Note: As of this writing, Craggy Gardens is not accessible due to Hurricane Helene damage on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Graveyard Fields is accessible via Route 276 and Route 215.
  2. Bent Creek Experimental Forest – Just 15 minutes from our West Asheville rentals, this 6,000-acre forest features gentle trails perfect for families and mountain biking enthusiasts.
  3. Black Balsam Knob – Looking for the best hikes near Asheville? One of our favorites is Black Balsam Knob. It offers some of the most spectacular mountain balds in the Southern Appalachians. Located at milepost 420.2 on the Blue Ridge Parkway (just 26 miles from Asheville), this hiking trail system includes the stunning peaks of Black Balsam Knob, Sam Knob, and Tennent Mountain.
