FishTop Cabin is a newly built, timber-themed mountain retreat set privately in the Blue Ridge Mountains—directly across from the Green River. With a wrap-around covered deck, hot tub, fire pit, and a fun lower-level game room, this secluded cabin is designed for groups who want true mountain charm with modern comfort. "We had an absolutely delightful time at Fishtop! This beautiful home is one of the best laid out cabins we have ever rented! Exquisitely clean, amazingly well organized and labeled, comfortable, kid and adult friendly, and perfect for us. We had an extended family gathering for pick up/drop off at a nearby summer camp. Three adults and three kids for three nights- I cannot imagine any place better! Highlights included a complete game room in the basement with board games, an arcade game, video games and more. The kids were in heaven! We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub one evening, watching the colored lights change and relaxing with the warm water. We were really impressed with the personalized Fishtop Cabin towels! In the mornings we had coffee out on the porch, and enjoyed eating meals on the big table outside. We were thrilled when a rainstorm came through and we could watch the rain from the porch (we’ve been in a drought).The kitchen is amazingly well equipped. All the equipment and spices you could ever need to fix anything! We’ve did a tubing trip with a local outfitter, and enjoyed lunch in Saluda and dinner in Hendersonville.As of June 2026 the road in front of the cabin is closed to through traffic due to damage from Hurricane Helene. It is fine coming from Columbus, and “primitive but passable” from the Saluda side, including one stretch of hilly dirt road. Check out that direction in daylight first! We’ve all agreed that we want to come back next year!

Best Place We Have Ever Stayed

"Fishtop cabin was the perfect place for our extended family getaway (3 adults and 3?kids). One of the kids said “this is the best place we have ever stayed” which is high praise considering we’ve stayed in about 10 places in his lifetime! Fishtop has everything you need, from a well stocked and organized kitchen to plenty of games (including an arcade machine!) for the kids to a big front porch to a hot tub and to easy access to lots of wonderful things in western NC. The cabin was immaculately clean. Everything was handy and labeled (I took photos to share with a friend who owns a rental property). The beds were comfortable, the air conditioner kept us cool, and the space was laid out well. We could gather together to do a puzzle, or spread out for our own desire to nap/read/play outside. I loved sitting on the porch and hearing the river in the distance and the songs of birds that were close by. I also adored the personalized touches, especially the towels for the hot tub that have the Fishtop logo on them. We spent one afternoon tubing on the Green River, and enjoyed meals in Hendersonville and Saluda. We also visited the farm stand in Saluda where we bought fresh blueberries and blackberries. The general store in Saluda had delicious locally made sausage, cheese, and twice baked potatoes. These two stops provided one of our favorite meals! We were only there 3 nights, and had chosen Fishtop as the base for summer camp drop off and pick up logistics. Everyone thinks we need to stay for a week next time, and make it a real vacation! We can’t wait to return.

"Peaceful cabin and great location by the river. The cabin itself was amazing and had every amenity you could think of. My son especially loved the loft area with all the toys! Unfortunately, the main road into Saluda was closed which added at least 30+ minutes to travel time every time leaving the cabin - including getting to nearby grocery stores and restaurants. We truly enjoyed our stay though, despite all the driving!

"We went for a family/friends Thanksgiving getaway and this was the perfect pick. The listing was exactly as advertised. We have been doing a different cabin in the North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee area for 13 consecutive years and this was one of the best. Ample space, comfortable beds, CLEAN, and a well stocked kitchen with anything and everything you could possibly need to cook with. The hot tub and outdoor firepit were exactly what we needed for a relaxing long weekend in the cold. We would definitely recommend anyone looking for a place to stay and getaway from reality.

"The cabin was clean and very well stocked for preparing and storing meals throughout the weekend! It was nice to have wood available for the fire pit! We had a great weekend! My only recommendation for improvement would be to have a couple of blankets! We would have loved to be able to get cozy under blankets to enjoy the fall colors outside on the porch in the early morning. Otherwise, it was absolutely wonderful.

"I’ve never seen a home rental that was so meticulously planned and labeled. My husband is German, and we both laughed and said the owner must be a German engineer. Besides the home having anything and everything we could need for our stay, it was also excellently located high on the hill but close enough to walk to the green river, so our 12-year old son could go fishing. The hot tub seemed new and very well taken care of…which we appreciated as many times hot tubs were misrepresented from listings. The house was quiet and peaceful. Once you get down the mountain, you won’t want to leave. We would definitely return!

"FishTop Cabin met our weekend getaway needs and wants! We had easy entry via keypad, welcoming us into a great space that was inviting and beautiful! The kitchen was fully equipped with all the needs for every meal and we loved the casual eating area at the island and bar. The front porch was a favorite to sip coffee in the morning and wine in the evening! Our kids LOVED the loft area and barely left it, but when they did, the game room downstairs was very entertaining. Hot tub was awesome as well as the fire pit! Wonderful home!

Perfect mountain getaway

"This was a great rental for two families for a mountain getaway. We enjoyed the beautiful den, hot tub, and fire pit. The kitchen was stocked with all cooking essentials and well-marked so things were easy to find. The location was great too--a quick (curvy) 10 min. drive to hop onto I-26 to get to so many awesome hiking trails and bigger towns like Hendersonville and Asheville.

"We had the absolute best weekend at Fishtop with friends and family! The cabin has absolutely everything you need for a retreat from your hectic life. The kids loved all the games, books, puzzles, and the awesome built-in bunk beds. Grown-ups loved the hot tub, big kid games, and the fully equipped kitchen for staying in. Everything is spotless and high quality, and I loved sitting on the deck and soaking up the views. You could stay in all week and have plenty to do, but if you want some adventure some of the best WNC mountain towns are just a short drive away. We will 100% be back, and we can't wait!

Wind down, bottoms up!

"Winding down has two meanings in this far-from rustic paradise in the mountains. Driving down a tendril just off I-26, after no less than twelve bends you arrive at the bottom of Fishtop Cabin. The secluded driveway has a great surprise at the top to greet you, a self-contained escape. Whether watching a gentle rainstorm from the vast porch in an area that has nearly the annual rainfall as the Amazon or toasting marshmallows at the fire pit, Fishtop puts visitors in a trance of relaxation. Let your kids pick a bunk on the second floor and check out the many toys and activities while you head to the hot tub or play one of the games in the basement, do as little or as much as you want. When it comes time to eat all you have to do is bring the food. Fishtop has a fully stocked kitchen with utensils, spices, and everything you need to prepare a world-class meal or just give a cheap cut of meat a little style. Fishtop is a great place to spend a night or a long weekend.

"In a perfect location for tubing. The bunk bed room is open to the rest of the house, but if someone went to bed there earlier than others, we could easily go down to the game room to keep things quiet for sleepers. There were five of us and it was plenty of room for us. Overall, it was great! Nice touch that they had firewood for the fire pit!

"We were a party of eight. Great house. Very clean and spacious. Nicely furnished and well stocked with nearly anything you could need. The hot tub and downstairs TV/game room were wonderful to have. The house is nestled into an incredibly quiet spot - perfectly relaxing. Be careful navigating all the switchbacks down to/out of the house - they can be stressful as locals tend to speed around the twists and turns. Just take it slow.

"This was the perfect house for us - it had everything you could want and more! The house itself is impressive - just gorgeous inside (and out) and immaculate. The bunk beds for the kids had super soft blankets - high quality - and the light fixtures were super cool - industrial/artistic. The design of the bunk beds allowed the kids to see through to talk to each other - there were large drawers under the beds - filled with lego toys and tracks and trains they could build - hours and hours of play time!!! The deck was perfect for eating - large table - overlooking the firepit and fireflies! Grill, hot tub and all the amenities were enjoyed by all! Horse shoe sand area is awesome too. The thought and design of the interior is very high end, luxurious - and fun! Great open kitchen to cook and entertain. The house has a ton of privacy and access to the beautiful Green River - the kids went fishing, swimming and tubing - all right there - super fun. Game room downstairs was perfect for relaxing and having fun - darts, shuffle board, watch a movie and hang out. The house was one of our favorite rentals ever - it was hard to want to leave! We really loved our time - and highly recommend this beautiful house to anyone looking for a great escape and connection with family and nature. Magical Mountains

"The mountains are magical and this house did not disappoint. Saluda was quaint and the playground there by the railroad tracks was enjoyed by our kids. We spent time in Hendersonville and Asheville as well. The switchback drive down was a blast - do it with your windows down and take in the sights and sounds. Green River is gorgeous! Tubing was a first for us and now we’re hooked - it’s not a lazy river - class 1 / class 2 rapids! Definitely a workout. The house. Stunning. Just as big as we expected. Lots of parking. Great size bedrooms. Multiple bathrooms. The kitchen is amazing and accommodating. Fully stocked - just bring food. The upper and side balcony was well used. I enjoyed every meal outside on the upper balcony in the glider. The large outdoor dining table could easily fit 10-12 people. The grill is connected to the gas line of the house too! Horseshoe pit, fire pit, corn hole, hot tub, swing chair, shuffleboard, darts… TONS to do. Be prepared to walk some stairs! The stairs to the basement are slick and I fell missing the last step. All is well though. During our stay we talked about returning next year. Yes, it’s that good! Professional and organized space with binders full of restaurant menus and info about the surrounding areas. Thank you FISHTOP!

"Nice, well-appointed place to escape from distractions. Nestled in woodland, far from bustling crowds and trafficked roads, this amply sized but cozy cabin was the perfect spot for an extended weekend. Trading cars and honks for birds and chirps, the river gently, audibly churns at a slight distance near the edge of the property. Getting in and out is a modest adventure of switchbacks and blind turns with the occasional bike, skateboard or other single-serving 'vehicle' barreling toward you sans brakes. No complaints here, but a heads-up on needful handling maneuvers to get in and out of the gorge. All-in-all, good time.

"Fish Top Cabin was just perfect! This cabin had everything that you could ever need, no detail was left out. My kids (ages 8, 5, 3) were bright eyed the whole trip. The cabin was extremely organized, clean, and comfortable while also being luxurious. We enjoyed fly fishing, skipping rocks, and exploring in the river. My children loved the well-maintained hot tub and the game room was also a hit. We ended our days with s’mores around the fire pit in the evenings with a stunning view. It was the perfect place for a family friendly getaway.

"-- and it was already decorated for the season, complete with a tree! This was a generous portion of house, property, and fun activity for our group of 8 adults and a toddler. It was also easy to welcome other friends and families who made the adventurous drive down the gorge to visit with us - plenty of parking, and all types of space for mixing and mingling. Everything was clean, organized, and tasteful. High quality furnishings, décor, appliances and appurtenances - but not so fragile and uptight. It was truly comfortable and cush. The labelling of EVERYthing was over-the-top, but amusing, and certainly excellent communication. My only regret is that we didn't spend enough time there to take full advantage of everything that FishTop Cabin had to offer... next time!

"We loved Fishtop Cabin! It truly has more amenities that you can even enjoy in a weekend. The view from the porch and the second floor bedroom is unreal. Also, because of the tree cover, all of the natural light was not too harsh in the mornings, which made for a nice, gradual waking up each morning. "We stayed at Fish Top Cabin and it was by far one of the most amazing homes I’ve ever stayed in. They thought of everything you could possibly want or need in a home. The home was in pristine condition. It was peaceful, relaxing and you couldn’t want for anything there. You are only a hour and forty min drive from Charlotte, but felt like you were so far away from it all. Saluda town is so close if you needed to get anything or grab a bite to eat. This home is one of the most amazing places and as a family of 3, we are counting down the days to book this home again.

Refreshing Mountain Getaway

"Our stay was good. It was just what we needed to refresh our minds and bodies from our busy lives. The drive in was a bit nerve racking as their was very heavy fog, it was night time and there are about 10 tight switchback turns to maneuver. We probably went 5 mph for the last 3 miles. It was a fun part of our adventure! The drive up the driveway was nice, the house it set wonderfully up the hill and the landscape lights accent the house perfectly. The house is setup nicely. We only used 1 bedroom as it was just the wife and I but I could see this being used for a large family or weekends with multiple friends. The hot tub was clean and hot which was great to use after a full day of hiking. Great hiking spots near by and zip lining. The kitchen was stocked with all the plates, cups, utensils and cookware needed. The basement is a great addition for some movies, darts, shuffleboard, a puzzle and/or card games. Bring your favorite streaming service username and passwords to use. Overall we enjoyed our relaxing stay away from busy offices and streets, and would recommend this place to anyone looking for something similar. Would love to revisit during the spring/summer.

"This was the ideal spot for me and the guys to have a getaway weekend! Stay was absolutely amazing and had everything to keep a group of men busy for the weekend. One thing to note is this stay does not appear to be very far off the map but in reality, it is a dead zone for Uber pickup/dropoff. It is about a 10-15 drive to get back to civilization. All that being said, the Fishtop Cabin is a great place if you want to get away with friends and enjoy some solitude around a fire, playing horseshoes, or doing any of the many other amenities available on site.

"Great house, lots of space, and well thought out amenities. Game room, ice machine, streaming services all add to the house. For sure if you plan to stay here you need to plan to do some lazy river rafting on the green river as it’s right next to the house. Be aware that the drive to the house is a lot of work, takes a long time, and can be tough if you’re not used to switch-back mountain roads; not impossible, just be aware. Also, I would not suggest this house if you plan on running to the Asheville area much; not only does it take a while to get to the main road as mentioned but the highway is torn apart for construction so it takes too long to get there. In summary I would highly recommend this house, but be aware of the commitment to being down in the gorge.

Amazing Stay at Fish Top

"We had an amazing stay at Fish Top Cabin and the overall customer experience was phenomenal from the beginning. Due to our travel arrangements, we were planning to arrive a few hours prior to check in and the host was able to accommodate our request! This allowed us to enjoy the cabin and get settled in. The cabin is secluded and sits across the street from the Green River - very relaxing and nice options for renting tubes to float down the river (although the water was too cold to do this during our stay, which was in May). The space itself is absolutely stunning - the kids especially loved the built in bunk beds and the adults enjoyed the hot tub and listening to the river from the front porch! It was a nice, relaxing stay with great accommodations. Hosts were responsive and provided recommendations for around the area - we went on a horseback riding trail ride based on some of the recommendations and had a great time! We’re already planning our next trip back!

Even Better than Expected!

"This place was even better than my high expectations from photos!! Plenty of dry firewood under the deck. Every drawer/cubby in every room is labeled for what goes there. Even the black “makeup” washcloths! Which was a nice touch. The kitchen has every tool you should need, including a food thermometer and pastry brush. Automatic lights outside around the property and fire pit. AC units on each floor. Kids bunk room had toys and books!! Everything was impeccably clean and if I had a question, I was responded to in email within the hour. Had an amazing stay and can’t wait to return!!

"This cabin is perfect for a big group and it is very comfortable and well-designed. We had a large group and some people wanted to play games and stay up late while some people wanted to go to bed earlier and the house was perfect to do both due to its great design. Absolutely everything was clearly and beautifully labeled and the instructions to operate the house were very clear and helpful! The rental management company is very responsive and polite. The place is beautiful and the access to the gorgeous river is an easy walk from the house, I highly recommend it, there are endless activities to do at this place, we surely would love to come back!

"Would definitely recommend this property. Spent the weekend there with 6 friends for a bachelorette getaway and we had a fantastic time. Everything is perfectly labeled so you're not left to guess or question anything in the house. The pictures are great but they still don't quite do it justice. Be mindful of the drive to get there -- you're in for an extremely windy and occasionally steep road but it is doable provided the weather is clear. Wifi is great, I was worried considering the woodsy location but it's crystal clear. Hot tub was just right. Hard not to have a great time at this place. I could see the house is also very accommodating for children, they have tons of games and toys discreetly tucked away.

"The Fishtop cabin was an amazing place to enjoy quiet time. The ride to the house off the main road was certainly interesting. I would recommend having a solid vehicle that can make it up and down steep grades. The house is exactly as pictured. The fire pit could be a little challenging to get started during the damp months. We picked up a starter log at the store to help us out after night 1. I would highly recommend this place for families and friend groups.

"We stayed at the home for a vacation with my adult children and their spouses and/or partners! There were 3 couples and 1 teenager. We had the best time and loved everything about this property. The property is private, and has so many areas to gather and/or have private time, both in and out of the house. We were a mile from where planned a day tubing on the river...which was nice to be close because the last hour of the trip on the river was in a thunderstorm. We played corny pole outside regardless of the rain, since it is set up on the downstairs covered patio. We spent nights at the fire pit, playing horseshoes and enjoying the beautiful lights, that outline the outdoor area. The house has everything we needed and more. I would highly recommend booking this beautiful property. Thank you for a great stay and we look forward to booking again in the future

"I can’t say enough positive things about this property- it was absolutely stunning. From the location, to the furnishings and all the amenities- great stay! Plush bedding and towels, kitchen fully outfitted, lots of information (binders worth) of what to do. The porch is amazing for relaxing and evening dinners. We loved the basement game room in the evening. Wonderful property- worth the price! Looking forward to coming back. Tip: Plan to arrive while light outside- the descend to the gorge has many switchbacks and the house is located on a stepp incline, a little hard to navigate in the dark for the first time.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fish Top Cabin celebrating our 25th wedding Anniversary. The cabin was beautiful and offers a fantastic layout for larger groups. The owners have clearly put a lot of love and effort into this home, and it shows! It was well stocked with all the extras you may need during your stay... so convenient! We loved the game room, hot tub and fire pit. A definite gem and our stay was so relaxing. We ventured out to Pearson’s falls which was like an enchanted forest. Went into downtown Saluda and had brunch at the Purple Onion, highly recommended! My hubby fished in the green river and we enjoyed cooking in one night. Relaxing and memorable family stay

"Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at Fishtop cabin! The home is equipped with everything you could possibly need and more! The things provided went above and beyond most other vacation rentals we have experienced. Our young kids (7,4 and 18 months) were entertained the whole week with all the thoughtful books, games and toys. We spent every morning on the relaxing front porch and many evenings in the hot tub. My wife who is a clean freak was completely impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin. The game room, fire pit, and corn hole made for plenty to do without having to go anywhere. Outside of the cabin, we enjoyed walking down to the river, as well as the fishtop public access which had a bunch of little trails to explore. Nearby Bradley falls was also one of our favorite hikes to date! We would absolutely stay again and our kids cried when we had to leave the cabin and are already asking when we can return!

"We had a fun-filled, memory-making family vacation to FishTop Cabin and have so many good things to say; the kitchen is well-equipped with good appliances and plenty of spices. The family room has plenty of games and the downstairs game room has an ice machine and beverage fridge. We especially enjoyed the shuffleboard and corn-hole. We used the outdoor firepit every night and enjoyed all meals from the great table on the porch. Be sure to shop before heading in as the 16 switch-backs down to the cabin are no joke.
