Location: Private home located on near 7 acres of private acreage, accessible year-round. Just a fairly short and scenic drive outside of downtown Black Mountain, & under 30 minutes from downtown Asheville. You are less than 45 minutes to Asheville Regional airport, and app. 30 minutes to the gates of Biltmore Estate.

What you can expect: Black Mountain Hilltop Retreat is a private custom log home, located on a private mountain estate, at the top of the elevated knoll, affording simply stunning viewsheds. The home is situated on 7+/- acres of mountain property, affording private, safe places for kids to play & explore, adults to take a hike, and everyone to relax & enjoy the unreal views. And of course there is the amazing amenities; decks, fire-pit, Game Room, wood-burning fireplace, and more!

Here is the mountain log retreat lodge you have been looking for! Located inside the private gated community of Catawba Falls Preserve near Black Mountain, with unbelievable long range views at the headwaters of the Catawba River. Totally private setting, affording bedrooms with en suites. Large soaring vaulted great room w/stone fireplace, huge chef's grade kitchen (updated with new granite, lighting and range). Second story with two guest rooms en suite baths and loft area overlooking great room and views.

Extensive wrap around deck for entertaining overlooking level back yard with privacy and VIEWS. Open floor plan features ton of natural light. Large laundry/ mud room with plenty of storage off two car garage. Recently installed metal roof, decks stained and exterior in great shape allowing you to relax and luxuriate to your heart's content. Plenty of level yard and a Family/Rec room for entertaining on lower level. End of road privacy with lots of nature around.

Kids love getting out in and around the expansive yard, and exploring the property & explore the other rolling outdoor areas. The expansive deck area is just off the Kitchen/Great RM & out the side door, and off the Master Suite. All of these afford additional outdoor space to relax & unwind. While everyone enjoys the outdoor area, you can pull up a chair and take in the view, (the long range views are spectacular!!), observe the night as it fills with stars, and watch the fire flies come out to play in your backyard, unwinding around the fire-pit.

"Our family, consisting of 4 adults and 3 children, had the most perfect Fall Break vacation at Black Mountain Hilltop Retreat! The cabin is ideally located in a mountain top gated community, tucked away in trees and offering gorgeous mountain views! We never wanted to miss a sunrise because each one was breathtaking! The interior layout was perfect and allowed for lots of privacy with each bedroom having its own bathroom. The kids and adults loved the basement game room, lots of competitive ping-pong games! Everything was super clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable The decor was perfect for the setting. The owners/hosts have thought of everything. Plenty of extra blankets, pillows, all the kitchen utensils and cookware you would need including lots of things not usually found in rentals. Even dog dishes! We loved having the outdoor heater to sit on the deck at night and stargaze. The hot tub was a huge hit with the kids. We did have issues with the hot tub heating up correctly but maintenance was quick to respond and the issues were fixed the following day. It was nice having the two car garage to pull the cars in. The yard was nice and we used the fire pit. We drove into Asheville a few times during our stay and it was about a 25 minute drive. It took about ten minutes (maybe mess) to get the town of Black Mountain and groceries, shops, restaurants. We had been to Asheville several times before but this was our first time exploring Black Mountain. So quaint. We loved everything about the cabin and the location! We are definitely planning to rent here again! I can’t recommend it enough!

"The views from the deck at sunrise with a black coffee and in the evening under the stars with an Irish whiskey were the highlight. Regarding the house, the house is spacious as we had 10 people, dogs and a baby and we never felt crowded. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and the kitchen was well stocked w dishes, pots/pans, colanders, etc. for doing some cooking. Aside from a minor toilet issue that was quickly fixed by management, the only other complaint was that the sheets were dried with scented fabric softener sheets which irritated some guests allergies. A quick wash resolved this issue. All guests agreed that we would recommend the house and that we would stay again.

Long Family Weekend

"We stayed here for a long family weekend and it was the perfect amount of space for 8 of us. All of us slept comfortably and it was great having a bathroom in each bedroom. The beds were very comfortable. The view from the porch was beautiful and we enjoyed the hot tub very much. The hot tub was too small for our whole group to enjoy together - it's more suitable for up to 5 people at a time. I would recommend this home for any group wanting to enjoy a peaceful and comfortable place outside of town.

"We had a wonderful time at the Hilltop Retreat in Black Mountain, NC. The location and views cannot be beat. The pictures don’t lie! The house is beautiful and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, silverware and glasses/cups. The grill, fire pit and hot tub were enjoyed by all as were the ping pong and bumper pool tables on the lower level. The management company was responsive and easy to work with. All in all we had a terrific time and would definitely return.

Hilltop Relaxation

"Hilltop Retreat was a great visit for our two families and a dog. The beds were comfortable and there was lots of space for everyone to spread out. Having things like soap, toilet paper, dishwasher pods, coffee filters, and detergent on hand was so nice. Kids loved the ping pong table and we got good use of the bocce set. Hot tub was great once we figured out the controls and we enjoyed a fire pit in the afternoons and evenings. This house is a great rental and we were all impressed! Kitchen was easy to cook in and very well organized. Extra fridge in the garage was a nice bonus for drinks and being able to park in the garage was great. We did a day in Asheville and a hike to Catawba Falls. Ingles is 20 minutes from the house and has everything you need. Hilltop Retreat was a great place to stay and the property management company, Yonder, was very easy to work with. Thanks for sharing your fantastic home with us!

"This was a beautiful property to get away with family. It accommodated all of our needs and we were thoroughly pleased. This property was large enough to easily accommodate a big group but also spacious enough that we all felt very comfortable. All aspects of property were in perfect working condition. An easy app to download and check in info, property info, restaurants, things to do and much more were easily available. It was our first experience using such a property but certainly will not be our last. Very pleased with the entire experience. "This was our first time staying in Black Mountain and we were completely blown away by the house, location, decor, and gorgeous autumn splendor! Truly the perfect getaway, a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of life outside DC. The game room in the basement and hot tub were a huge hit with our older kids, and our toddler loved the ride on toy too. From nightly fires in the great room to making breakfast in the gourmet kitchen every morning, we fell in love with this house and the mountains. The most incredible views, and everything you could ever want in a luxury mountain house!

"Beautiful cabin with an incredible view that I would highly recommend. Great for large groups with children and pets too! I was especially impressed when we were driving to the property late at night and had trouble finding the house (nothing would be easy to find in the dark, driving in the mountains). I called the customer service number at 10:30 p.m. and was connected to a live person who helped us find the house.

"Had a great stay with family and friends. There were 8 of us and it was great to have separate bedrooms/bath for each couple. House and property is great. Plenty of room to spread out, large dining table accompanied all of us, good kitchen supplies, cooked inside and on grill. Beautiful setting. Management was very accommodating with our every need. "The Black Mountain Hilltop Retreat offers stunning views, with the added benefit of being able to enjoy them from the hot tub on the deck. "A breathe of fresh air! The house and view were both so breathtaking that we had to force ourselves to go into town to enjoy some delicious meals! There was something about the expansive interior with high ceilings and wooden logs that almost created a magical feeling to it each time one entered-either from a trip downtown or just walking in from the porch. The views were spectacular and the air so refreshing. We sat in the hot tub late at night looking at the stars. Just what the “doctor” ordered for my husband who was about to undergo surgery. I am a stickler for cleanliness in places I visit and I could not say enough about how clean it was. The kitchen was so beautiful that I felt compelled to leave it as spotless as when we arrived. We cannot wait to return!!

"Even better than the photos! The house itself is beautiful, as are the views! The layout is perfect for families and large gathering, with ample space for kids and adults alike. We spent each night out in the expansive deck taking in the scenery. When it got too dark we came inside and made amazing fires in the expansive fireplace. And the gardens were an unexpected surprise! Meticulously maintained and stunning. Can’t recommend it enough!
