Location: Private home located in a smaller, very private community. You are just over 30 minutes to downtown Asheville, and under 15 minutes to both Mars Hill & downtown Marshall. You are also app. 45 minutes from the Asheville Regional Airport. Home is accessed via only paved and fully maintained roads right up to the development entrance, then it becomes a gravel access road within development.

You are also just a short drive from America’s favorite scenic byway, The Blue Ridge Parkway, motorcycle touring, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, Segway tour…just about any outdoor activity! Quiet Policy: Please note that the home is located in a very private, quiet and exclusive development. Parties, loud noise and unruly behavior are absolutely prohibited, and guests are expected to respect the neighbors and their development.

Early Check In and/or Late Check Out may be possible, depending on cleaning schedules and other reservations. If it is possible, there may be an additional fee that would be determined based on the time that you wish to check in or out and the seasonal rates.

PETS: This home and property are very dog friendly and guests are welcome to bring their "best friends" with them. There is a non-refundable Pet Fee of $130 with a limit of 2 dogs per booking party.

"I can say nothing bad about this house! We spent 3 nights at Barefeet Retreat & it is absolutely beautiful and so well appointed! The drive in is gorgeous, with the gravel driveway & views. The owners really took their time to make you feel like you were at home with all the little details. The sauna was amazing!! I spent time in it every night along with the hot tub with beautiful views. The game room was a blast, we loved playing darts & the vintage arcade was fun. Where you can’t “see” our neighbors which is awesome, you’ll hear them. Some mornings it was hard to spend time outside as their dogs were very vocal, but I know that can’t be helped. It wasn’t all the time though. When we did get to be outside with our coffee was peaceful & truly beautiful.

"This cabin was immaculately, clean and breathtakingly beautiful. During our stay, I develops a kidney infection and needed emergency surgery for a kidney stone and the host so graciously extended our stay by two days so that my husband could stay with me in the hospital and that my children could get home safely, I can’t thank owner for their kindness. We will definitely be staying there again. It’s a dream vacation in the mountains and we’re so grateful that they were willing to share their beautiful home with our family.

"My family and I recently stayed at Bearfeet Retreat in Marshall, NC outside of Asheville. It was everything that we were looking for for our rustic mountain getaway. Out of town, but not too far to drive in for the day. Secluded with a great view and a rustic charm. All of the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was perfect for cooking meals for the family. We love sitting in the little outdoor table on the screened in patio for our meals. The sauna was also a very nice touch. We would absolutely return next time we're in the area! I was surprised to find out there is a couple of cute restaurants in the downtown Marshall area as well. Thanks so much Yonder Luxury Vacation Rentals for an easy rental process.

All The Comforts

"Bearfeet Retreat was the perfect getaway from life’s hustle and bustle. This very spacious log cabin had all the comforts of a secluded vacation destination. The scenic overlook views from the double-story wooden deck were incredible! The kitchen was well stocked, and we had everything we needed to cook dinner each night (7 people). The fire pit was positioned in a great spot. The sauna and hot tub came in handy during our chilly stay. The kids enjoy the game room amenities as well as other toys supplied. The comfortable beds assured a peaceful night’s rest. The only hiccups we encountered include: • When we first arrived, the exterior temperature was in the ’30s and the main thermostat was set to 60 degrees. It took several hours to reach a comfortable temperature. • We were looking forward to washing our dirty clothes and hot tub towels on the 2nd to last day of our stay, only to discover there was a post-it note on the washing machine that read “Sorry, out of order.” The management company reached out at midnight to let us know they would look at it, but we were leaving the next day. Our preference would have been to have an operable machine or be notified upfront that the machine needed to be repaired during our stay. • The Keurig machine had a missing part to filter and dispense the coffee which made it inoperable; the management company offered to replace it, but thankfully the old school drip pot worked fine. UPDATE: I shared this review with Yonder customer service before posting and they quickly responded within the hour!

A very relaxing place

"This was a great property and location. We loved the multiple porches and the fabulous views. The beds were very comfy and we had add the amenities we needed although it was tough not having a closet in the master. The only thing to make it a 5 was that it was a little cluttered in the kitchen and living room. Also, the animal heads on the wall were a little distracting. Overall we enjoyed the place with the amazing views and wow - the hummingbirds were amazing.

Absolute Favorite Cabin in NC

"This huge home blew us away with its amazing view. We also quite enjoyed being able to enjoy the night sky from the hot tub. We've stayed in a lot of mountain cabins, but this quickly became our absolute favorite. It was very welcoming, well equipped, and we enjoyed the Halloween decorations. Additionally, this was my 10-year-old son's first cabin trip, and he was in heaven.

"We stayed in this property over a holiday weekend and absolutely loved it. It is a bit of a drive to Hot Springs, but the dash over to Marshall is nothing, and the views are worth the trip in any event. This is a great home. Would 10/10 stay here again.

Perfect Family Getaway

"The cabin is completely secluded with incredible views of the mountains. The cabin felt cozy and very comfortable yet spacious too. We prepared many meals in the well equipped kitchen and grill. When at the cabin, we enjoyed the hot tub and ping pong best...but the sauna was nice and we did play darts and cornhole. No one was ever bored (two teenage girls!). There is excellent hiking very nearby. It's an easy trip Asheville. Fun was had by all!!

"Everything about this property was wonderful, we felt at home as soon as we arrived! Every bedroom space was desirable which made choosing bedrooms a non-issue. This beautiful home is well crafted with plenty of space for a large group to spread out and have a relaxing stay. The cabin is secluded and quite with breathtaking views! We enjoyed the hummingbirds and deer sightings along with the Sauna, Hot tub and outdoor Ping Pong which were our favorites. We left well relaxed and rested as if we had visited a weekend spa. The only issue we had was time, we wished we had more time to enjoy all this beautiful property had to offer! We’ll definitely re-visit this beautiful oasis!

"This cabin has the most amazing views and a large property/yard space to explore and kids to play in. It is so kid friendly they even have Childrens toys in the upstairs bedroom closet, yet at the same time it is adult friendly modern with a rustic cabin feel. The fire pit is offset away from the cabin with plenty of comfortable chairs to enjoy s'mores by the fire with the family, then walk back to the cabin and get in the hot tub and sauna or play in the game room that is equipped with corn hole boards, ping pong, shuffle board and even an exercise bike. Waking up to the sunrise with a cup of coffee laying in the hammock on the back porch or one of the many other porch areas was a highlight of our stay! This home literally has EVERYTHING and more, we even got to see many deer grazing in the back yard mornings and evenings! We didn't want to leave!
