The Fin and Fig Farmhouse is the original White Oak Mountain homestead dating back to 1890. Sitting on over 5 private acres, this luxuriously upgraded property will have you in awe with the 100 mile views! This mountaintop retreat is located just 10 minutes from Columbus, 30 minutes from Asheville, and under 2 hours from Charlotte.

The great room exudes vaulted ceilings with a wood burning cookstove. The fully updated kitchen boasts high-end stainless-steel appliances including a gas cooktop, built in wall oven and a spacious island, perfect for whipping up your favorite meals.

The first floor MBR features a king sized bed, fully appointed bathroom, a sitting area with original 1800’s fireplace, and accordion glass doors opening onto the screened in porch which allow you to enjoy the fresh mountain air as you sleep! The porch has a brand new hot tub with views of the valley below, and a twin sized swinging bed to relax and appreciate the sunrise.

This adorable farmhouse has 4 guest rooms and a separate log cabin with a kitchenette for a total of 5 sleeping spaces. There are several other sleeping options with pull out sofas, etc. The upper deck is the spot for stargazing, listening to the waterfall, and looking down onto the twinkling lights of the countryside below. Plenty of options for hiking and biking nearby, or fly fishing and tubing on the Green River.

Early Check In and/or Late Check Out may be possible, depending on cleaning schedules and other reservations. If it is possible, there may be an additional fee that would be determined based on the time that you wish to check in or out and the seasonal rates.

Pets: This home and property are dog-friendly, welcoming your furry friends! There is a non-refundable Pet Fee of $130, allowing up to 2 dogs. If you’d like to bring a third dog, an additional fee of $50+tax applies.

"Gorgeous property with spectacular views! Clean and well appointed - especially the kitchen! Fin and Fig is conveniently located to key shopping spots, and only 20-25 minutes from TIEC. We have wonderful memories from our time there, and will undoubtedly book this property again the next time we are in NC horse showing in Tryon.

"We loved our stay at the farmhouse! It was an amazing location to spend time with family from out of town. We loved hanging out on the deck, playing games in the living room, and had a beautiful thanksgiving meal at the large table. This is a beautiful home and we would certainly consider booking again!

"My family and I had a wonderful long break. The house and surrounding areas were amazing to walk our dog and absorb all the nature. We walked down to the waterfall every morning. The neighbors are very friendly and courteous - we made many friends during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and the rooftop was perfect for star gazing at night. Hope to come back every summer!

"Our family had a wonderful week at the Fin & Fig Farmhouse. The views are just gorgeous. The mountain definitely earns it’s nickname of Land in the Sky. The history of the house and the mountain is worth exploring. Neighbors were very friendly and loved sharing their mountains history. Yonder was a great host. The house is well equipped. We would definitely stay here again.

"This beautiful house sits on a large, open lot at the very top of White Oak Mountain, with breathtaking 270-degree views. The creek that becomes the famous Shunkawauken Falls borders the property, which crest from the corner of the lot. Our family loved the scenic, winding journey up the mountain, on a well-maintained road with very little traffic. The house sits in a lovely private neighborhood, which was perfect for leisurely walks and jogs. The hot tub was a big hit for us, with incredible views, both night and day. The house itself was clean and comfortable, with so many wonderful spaces to spread out. The gourmet kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, with upgraded appliances and plenty of space. The upper deck had the most gorgeous sunrise views, which we rose early to enjoy. It's the perfect house for any season. We hope to be back!

"What a cozy and comfortable spot on the mountain. The views on the sun, rain and especially nighttime were amazing. Stress levels dropped as soon as you enter this adorable cottage. Surprisingly roomy inside, space for everyone to find a quiet corner or a large group could gather on the porch or the front dining room. The kitchen is a dream, everything you need for cooking and gathering and another gorgeous view of the valley. The sounds of birds and hawks are only outdone by the gentle rolling stream and the top of the waterfall, so soothing. Absolutely in love with the quaint rooms, the lush landscape, kitchen is a dream but favorite is the porch up & down. Everywhere you turn, in every room there's little touches that bring character and warm homey feel. I want the pillows, so dreamy... beds were very comfy and strategically placed to see the best views. Home is equipped with everything, thick towels, blankets, laundry room, plenty of bathrooms, a hot tub and so much more. So many stunning views of the valley, flowering trees, butterfly bushes and green, fields .... you just get whisked away. Don't forget to read all about the home's history! Highly recommend as your next vacation or weekend get away!

"We loved this rental property! From the location on top of White Oak Mountain to the accommodations of the property itself, it is a wonderful experience. We loved it all! The house is a great mix of history and updated design. The grounds around the house gives you green space, beautiful trees and the overlook is the cherry on top!!!

"We spent two weeks at the Fin & Fig in August to have a break from Florida’s summer heat, with lots of family members coming and going. It was absolutely the perfect place for accommodating our group of ten! So many options for things to do, interesting nearby places to visit and creating many memorable meals together. The large hot tub was enjoyed by many, the guest cabin made it perfect for those who preferred to have more privacy, the kitchen was totally furnished with everything needed to do all sorts of cooking - all we needed to bring was the food and beverages. Anything we forgot/needed was just a quick drive down to Columbus’ Food Lion. I will say the drive up to Fin & Fig was a bit challenging and scary for us flatlanders at first, but you get used to it pretty quickly. Yonder definitely takes a lot of pride in making certain all is top notch & comfortable - and addresses any concerns quickly and efficiently with their management team. We were so happy and impressed with Kim, Fin & Fig’s property manager. (There is the story of a bear encounter🤣). She went over and above our expectations to insure our visit was amazing! We plan on returning next summer to Fin & Fig for a repeat experience! Job well done, Yonder…..

Old & New Comfort

"We just spent a wonderful week at The Fin & Fig Farmhouse in the mountains above Columbus, NC. The house itself, which dates back to 1890, has undergone a number of renovations and additions over the years, and provides an inviting mix of old and new comfort. As there were just 4 of us (and a dog), there was more than enough space for remote offices and entertainment/meal/kicking back areas, and we never even got to the guest cabin. The kitchen is well outfitted, and we even smoked a brisket on the Green Egg! There was a large hot tub on the spacious porch overlooking the valley, but we never got to that, either; as our days were filled with long walks up mountain roads, golf in nearby South Carolina, noodling around Columbus (once we got accustomed to the incredibly steep, narrow and serpentine drive up and down the mountain), and remote working. Our evenings found us settled in, enjoying wonderful meals, good wine and favorite tv series. It was the perfect getaway place for four relative flat-landers who enjoy each other’s company — and little Arlo gives it two paws up, as well.
