Bear Bottom Cabin is a true "one-of-a-kind" vacation destination, tucked in the valley of Mills Gap, and literally right outside of everything Asheville. This spacious 3 bedroom cabin affords mountain privacy, a wrap-a-round deck, screened porch, hot tub, fire-pit, and a stream; all while being close to a plethora of other local outdoor activities. Bear Bottom Cabin has become one of the most popular homes in our Yonder luxury portfolio, and is quickly becoming one of the most requested! It is not surprising when you put a terrific home together with all the amenities it has to offer. Location: Private home located just 10 minutes outside of south Asheville, & just under 30 minutes to downtown Asheville. You are 10 minutes to Asheville Regional airport, and 35 minutes to the gates of Biltmore Estate. You have relatively easy access to just about everything in the area.

Get ready to start your vacation in this traditional mountain style retreat cabin. With soaring vistas, high ceilings, vaulted spaces, and hard wood floors, you will immediately feel at home at Bear Bottom Cabin. (That is of course if you can tear yourself away from the wrap-a-round deck or screened porch & soaking in the spectacle of the Blue Ridge Mountains, & actually venture inside!) The great room, with plenty of space to unwind, and fully equipped, large kitchen, is where everyone will want to gather to enjoy their time together inside the house. But, if you need some “alone time”, there is plenty of space inside and out to find your own serenity. There are 3 outside porches, decks, and patios for ultimate outdoor relaxation. Kids love the expansive outdoor areas & playing in and around the stream, and of course the hot tub. (Adults of course LOVE the hot tub as well.) The expansive decks & screened porch are just off the Kitchen/Great Room & out the side door, and off the lower terrace level. All of these afford additional outdoor space to relax & unwind. Everyone enjoys the decks, you can pull up a chair and take in the "sound of silence", observe the night as it fills with stars, and watch the fire flies come out to play in your backyard. Take a seat and enjoy the sound of nature and the serenity in your own private paradise at the top of the world. There is also a fire-pit for hours of tall-tales, s'mores, and family enjoyment!

Peaceful Cabin in the Woods

"We really enjoyed our stay in this very large cabin/house. It was easy to find, comfortable, clean and spacious on a beautiful property full of trees and with a clear stream running through the backyard. It was in a great location - close to Asheville up north and Brevard, Pisgah National Forest, Dupont Recreation Area and even Ceasar's Head State Park (just across the border in South Carolina) down south. Our rainy weather did not let us take advantage of the outdoor space like we had hoped - this included a nice fire pit area down by the stream, a deck and hot tub. Our busy schedule did not allow us to play any of the games provided but there were a lot for both indoor and outdoor play. Plenty of linens were provided and we really appreciated the hand soaps provided at every sink along with dishwashing and paper supplies left out for us. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend others to consider staying at this property.

"Overall excellent stay, a couple of hiccups but resolved without issue. Beautiful, quiet, and secluded area, however, conveniently located close to shopping, the airport, restaurants, etc. The cabin is spacious with several different areas to relax. The outdoor area is beautiful and we enjoyed a fire in the pit next to the little creek. I would definitely recommend this cabin.

"My friends and I loved this property! It is located off the road in a beautiful wooded area. The cabin was immaculate and offered every amenity. We enjoyed lounging by the gas fireplace, cooking meals in the gorgeous kitchen, and spending every night in the hot tub just staring that the stars. We didn't get a chance to use the firepit down by the adorable bubbling creek, but our stay was still amazing!

"Love this cabin! I came for a weekend girls’ trip and wish I could have stayed a week. It was so well stocked and immediately felt homey. The jacuzzi and the fire pit were great outdoor bonuses to the spacious cabin. I also loved the big screened in porch, which was perfect for listening to summer rain storms. Communication with Yonder was seamless, making check-in and check-out smooth. Already looking forward to the next time I can come visit as a base between Asheville and Brevard!

"We had a magical three night stay at the cabin. The house had everything we could have needed. We enjoyed the board games, the games in the garage, the hot tub and the fire pit. Plenty of room for the six of us. The porches were an additional bonus that we greatly enjoyed! The kids asked if we could return!! The location was very convenient to the Sierra Nevada Brewery and DuPont Forest. The grocery store less than five miles away was another plus.

Even Better Than Photos!

"The house and property are great, even better than the photos. It’s nestled in the woods near a small farm with a stream running through the back. We loved sitting in the hot tub listening to the birds and feeling surrounded by nature. The house has an abundance of leisure spaces for every season and activity between the back deck, sunroom, screened porch, front porch, garage/game room and outdoor fire pit. It’s also a nice central location for those wanting to do day trips to Looking Glass falls area, Asheville and Mt. Mitchell area. The grocery store a few minutes away was convenient as well. We did hit a couple snags when we arrived at the house. The hot tub wouldn’t heat and the Wi-Fi and phones weren’t working. We were able to fix the hut tub ourselves but the Wi-Fi and phones weren’t resolved during the 5 days we were there. For us that didn’t matter - it was nice to be unplugged (we didn’t get any Verizon cell service there) - but would have been a problem if we needed to make a call or work from that location.

"Fantastic stay. We had 3 couples and had plenty of room to spread out. We cooked Saturday night and breakfast each morning and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils. Hot tub was perfect at night and you can listen to the River. I recommend turning off lights and on a clear night on the deck you can see the bright starry night. Perfect room for a card night upstairs off the living room so pack your games and decks of cards. It’s quiet and you feel like you’re all alone out there but it’s quick access to Brevard And Hendo ** If you’re cooking - Do bring all your seasonings and you need for cooking including salt 🧂 it was out. And they only provide basic body wash. No shampoo or conditioner.

"Such a beautiful space! The cabin was lovely with a nice creek running through the back yard. Coffee in the sun room in the mornings were such a peaceful way to begin each morning. Ladies’ Trip

"We were a party of five women staying for two nights. The house is large and very clean. There were enough towels. They had turned on the hot tub on our request, which was wonderful. The fridge was on as well. Beds were comfortable. The surroundings are lovely. Beware of the farmer's dog down the road that is left loose but is probably a good boy. He did scare me a bit with his aggressive body language. There are three very friendly horses in a paddock down the road and the owner doesn't mind you petting them. There was a white goat as well, a little stream and winding gravel roads. All in all, very charming. Asheville downtown was about a 15 minute drive using freeways. The management company gave us explicit directions but our GPS worked fine as well. There's a well-stocked Ingles grocery (and a pizza place) at the nearest intersection from where we got most of our food. Your phone company may not give great service at this location but the wifi is good. The fireplace and the glass enclosed verandah were big favorites with all of us.

"I can’t say enough great things about this place! The communication was quick and easy. After the first night we were already planning our next trip here. "Only got to spend two nights at the property. Wish we had more time. The house was spacious and accommodating. The surround property would have been good to have gotten to explore. The house was well furnished and the hot tub was great. The back porches were great. Wish we could have taken full advantage of them, but as I said we were only there for two nights. I would love to come back and spend a few more days and take full advantage of all the property offers.

"This property was perfect for a girl’s weekend with friends! It was very conveniently located and easy to find- close to I-26 (but not too close!), Sierra Nevada Brewery, Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway! The house is perfectly decorated with mountain decor, and very spacious. The back screened porch was so perfect for relaxing afternoon drinks and coffee, and the enormous hot tub made stargazing that much better at night after a long day exploring the mountains. There are neighbors close by but you can’t see any other houses from your property so it feels safe, but still secluded. Love the stream running by the fire pit as well. We loved this property and can’t wait to go back!

"This home was the perfect setting for our mountain vacation! The house was spotless and felt like we were staying at a friend’s home rather than a vacation rental! Our kids loved playing with the games in the garage basement, splashing in the stream behind the house, catching fireflies while roasting marshmallows by the fire pit and going over and meeting Jessie the goat at the home across the stream. The location of the home could not have been more convenient. There was a grocery store less than 10 minutes away and centrally located from Biltmore, Black Mountain, Pisgah National Forrest and Hendersonville. We can’t wait to plan another vacation at this mountain home again!

"Highly recommend! We had 5 in the cabin and it was so spacious and beautiful! The outdoor stream and secluded location was perfect for our February getaway. The house was outstanding - fully equipped kitchen, cozy living room and two sunrooms to choose from + ping pong table downstairs. Also easily accessible off of main roads. Don’t hesitate to book.

The cabin sits on a quiet property with a brook running through and sitting on the 3 seasons porch at night listening to the water with a cool breeze blowing was heaven. The team at Yonder was quick to respond to the only question I had (just a simple one about trash service) and the entire process from reservation to the check out was easy. I would highly recommend Yonder and I would definitely recommend Bear Bottom Cabin.

"This house was fabulous in so many ways. It was spacious, with 3 separate sitting areas and 3 separate dining areas (including patio) and great bedroom layout. Very tastefully designed with high end furnishings, appliances, features (fancier than I had expected). Excellent well equipped game room, hot tub, wifi, firepit (with firewood) and the little creek (and neighboring horses and goat across the creek) kept our 8 yr old well entertained. Beds and all furniture were quite comfortable. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend!

"We were very happy with the floor plan of Bear Bottom Cabin. It worked beautifully for our small family get-together. We particularly liked the "sunroom", off the main living area. The kitchen was very well-equipped and enjoyable to use. The house is tastefully decorated, well-equipped with every possible need. We would have liked to stay much longer. Upon our return to Asheville, we would definitely stay at this beautiful home again.

A Beautiful Location and Relaxing Weekend

"This house is in a quiet location, but still close to all of the activities we wanted to enjoy. While we were here, we hiked 2 days in Pisgah, mountain biked 2 days in DuPont, and spent a day walking around downtown Asheville. In between our daily outings we enjoyed the well appointed house. We all enjoyed the hot tub, the ping pong table, and the sunroom. We were really impressed with the kitchen - the gas range, refrigerator and all of the pots and pans you’d want for an extended stay. This house was perfect for a nice week away, with internet access sufficient for unavoidable work meetings. We really loved our time at this beautiful mountain house.

"My family had a great stay here. House was great- as shown in photos and in description. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, and games in the garage. Location is very peaceful and quiet. The location allows for easy trips into Asheville and tons of hiking and waterfalls within 30-45 minute drives.

"What a wonderful property! The cabin is very tastefully appointed and has multiple areas to relax and enjoy the wilderness. The sound of the creek behind the cabin provides the perfect ambiance for relaxation and retreat. The location is perfectly isolated, yet it is only a 10 minute drive to a phenomenal grocery store with many options to meet every need. Would recommend this cabin to anyone!
